I’m sorry to hear it man. Right there with you on that front. Negotiating a child between a woman scorned is a draining battle but you’re unfortunately doing it right. EVERYTHING is CYA at the outset. I had to play those games. It’s paid off so far. Exhausting but worth it.

If you haven’t already, file as soon as possible. It’s honestly a relief when they have an attorney talk them out of the crazy shit they’re contemplating. Family law is 100% client control. It’s the Wild West.

Also, mental trick: This is going to sound insane, but it’s a game changer. Assume an alter ego - i.e. “The Batman Complex”. Not gonna bullshit you, divorces with kids are just psychotic personal attacks. It’s just the lay of the land. You have to inhabit a different persona to take it on the chin AND turn it into something you can use.
