The fact that a "Royal Family" even still exists in 2026 in a Western country is pretty hilarious.
It shows how brilliant the House of Windsor has been at reinventing itself to stay palatable to the general public. They managed to not only secure a permanent place in society, but to also have extremely favorable public opinion and have essentially zero chance of being overthrown or replaced. If the final French monarchs could have peered ahead into the future, they would doubtless be quite annoyed and jealous at the resulting timeline.

IMHO, that's cause France had "bad" Kings. Their last King who was successful was Louis XIV. Now, their biggest mistake was supporting the American rebels against the English Crown, cause at the end their support for that revolution caused their downfall.
Aren't they all French Monarchs, though, since the English took a big shit in the Battle of Hastings 10 centuries ago or so?

I believe the last descendants of the French monarchy is the current King of Spain (the House of Bourbon).
I don't know how true it is but the theory is these days they bring in a lot in tourism. They do also act as ambassadors for us. I actually like the idea of a Royal family but a smaller version of it. I met Margaret, Philip and Zara through horses, they are all great and down to earth normal people
