#8 is showing pretty good defense against the side control G&P.
Cats are natural mixed martial artists - they've got excellent striking and grappling. I was watching Nature the other night, and they showed this slow motion shot of a jaguar jumping up from under a leaping gazelle and while both animals were still flying through the air, the jaguar executed a perfect rolling sweep so that it was on top. It was beautiful.

I thought that you were into paleobotany, not this current day animal stuff. Having said that, cats are as amazing physically as they are irritating in their autistic personality. BTW, weren't you the one who had perfected the "tail bar" on the felix domesticus?

I perfected the tail bar. I also revolutionized the kitty triangle, the whisker twister, and the pawhook. I'm currently 92-0 against felines. However, I heard there was a scary cat that had been calling my name out from the San Francisco Zoo. Luckily for me I heard it retired a couple months ago. I beleive it was 3-0.

Dude, how do you get it moved? I didn't start it, but it was too fun not to chime in on.

Yes this probably should go in off topic - but I think the moderators have to move it.
JT,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by autistic personalities. If you mean they aren't very social, well, I have to disagree. Both of our cats are very social. Our male cat follows me from room to room, and as soon as I sit down he comes over and taps me on the shoulder with his paw until I pet him, then he promptly falls asleep on my lap. Cats take a long time to develop trust - but once they do, they can be very friendly.
We just had a funny cat fight. Our female cat is much smaller than the male and usually runs away when he wants to battle. We were putting new sheets on our bed and our male cat likes to hide under the fitted sheet so that he's basically sealed in tight and appears as a big bump. Our female cat jumped up on the bed, but didn't realize that the bump was our other cat. She saw the bump start to move so she immediately jumped on it and started clawing the sh*t out of it. The male cat couldn't fight very well trapped under the sheet and finally got his *ss kicked by the girl. He came out from under there all ruffled and shaking his head. It was highly entertaining.

Totally agree w/ Arch. I also have a cat, and she greets me at the front door every time I get home, without fail. She responds to being called, like a dog, and loves nothing more than to plop down in someone's lap. She sleeps curled up w/ either me or my GF every night.
She is also a vicious attack cat and would f*ck up any of the cats pictured above in this thread. She has good strikes with all four of her paws (she's particularly explosive with her hind legs), and there is no way she would ever tap. If you want to submit her, you have to put her to sleep.

Man, either you guys are cat whisperers, ie excessively in touch with your feminine nurturing sides
or you have found the only two cats in the universe that are able to form normal bonds with humans. Congrats either way. Every damn time I go into a house with a cat, it runs away and hides until we leave and the place stinks. But they are kind of cute in posters. They make real good research animals for neurophysiology, too. A lot of the major initial discoveries/advancements in the understanding of the cerebral visual and sensory systems were in cats, not to mention studies of certain nerve cells in the cervical spinal cord that allow them to have such amazing control of their forepaws. But, I digress. . .

Notice how anytime people defend cats they bring up how cats do this and that just like dogs do?
Funny stuff though.

King - This is a personal affront. I want this guy for UFC 85. The figurative tally will be 30-27, 30-26, 30-24 for 3000.

If the dog is trained then theres nothing wrong with it. My friend does protection work with a geman shepard and he can hold a mouthfull of eggs(shelled) in his mouth without breaking them, so this is along the same lines. A well behaved cat,and a trained dog...
