JOE SILVA
He must have the best job in the world. Whilst a very difficult job it must be so satisfing putting together some of the best fights the world has ever seen. I put it to you fellow forum friends to give me your match ups if you were Joe Silva.

Why do people always say that Joe Silva has such a difficult job? He basically does what everyone on this forum does except he gets paid a s--- load of money and the match ups he comes up with actually happen.
Being a commercial fisherman is a difficult job. Saying to yourself, you know, I think this guy should fight this guy, is not.

Erm being a fisherman is a difficult job too but i take nothing away from either. What im looking for is your ultimate matchup ups. Not confrontation. Can you give me some real ideas?

Sorry. I don't mean to sound confrontational but there have been many posts on these forums regarding the difficulty of Joe Silva's job. I don't see it. I had to get it off my chest. As for match ups? Fedor VS various animals is always a popular choice.

For me I kind wish fights weren't done in one fight but in best of three. So many fights happen due too a foolish mistakes. I'd like to see all the guys Chuck has lost too give him a rematch before he retires.

totally the best job in the world, though I dont think that's his only job, and I think dana is really who decides who fights who, at least when it comes to important fights... the fights on the undercard, for sure is joe the one making them.. I think he must be getting pay a LOT, probably because he's dana's friend... and it really doesnt take much skills to do his job, so as long as he keep sucking up to dana, he'll keep his job...

Yip all those last losses. Chuck has fought the best of the best over the last 5 fights and to see him get a crack at all those redemptions would be just. I'd hate to see the same results but I dont hink we would see he same results.

So after a hugh argument with my girlfriend I have come to the conclusion that even if Chuck cant compete with the best of the best right now I would still pay my $49 pay per view to have him on the card and he woulds still be $20 worth of the card. That said I've lost track of my post which was... If I was Joe Silva who would i like to match up. So with that said Thiago Silva vs Chuck Liddell.

In Chuck's case it might not be a bad idea...because he already vindicated most/all losses when he was on top. Jeremy Horn...Couture etc. But I would only really like to see him fight Rashad again.
And yes Silva's job would be kinda cool...But I would imagine alot of stress too (ok maybe just a bit of stress). I mean if you get a crap fight or three...not really your fault but I'm sure he feels like it is sometimes? Bruce Buffers job would be cool. Or Goldberg's.

No doubt...I thought I heard somewhere that he just got married? Was kinda surprised (if it's true) considering he said he never would not long ago?

I'm not saying it is the world's most difficult job but I don't think it is as easy as you all think. The big fights are easy to make, sure. What about all the prelim and fight night cards? The cards where the fights aren't as big. Joe really has to do his homework to bring in new fighters and match them up to see how they will do in the division. Anyone can make a GSP/Alves , GSP/Penn, or a Mir/Lesnar. It is those entertaining undercard fights that require some skill. You have to know the fighter, what they do well and what they don't do well and who they should be matched up with.
We also don't know how far, on average, the UFC plans its events. Also Joe obviously can't control how the fighters perform so I sure his picks don't always perform as planned.

Any hardcore fan with MMA knowledge can do his job. Its not that hard to put matches together. Hell there are people who can actually do it better. Anyways most matches come together by its self and are decided by the winner of each fight. He does have one of the best jobs in the world though.

First of all, definitely a GREAT job to have. As far as how hard it is? If you think it's anything but an easy job, you're foolish.
Secondly, what's up with wishing to see Chuck be the first to die in the UFC cage, anyways?? Hey, you won't find a bigger Chuck fan than I am. Which is exactly why I don't want to see him DIE via Round 1 murder if Rashad was to land another one of those BOMBS. And you just know it'd only be a matter of when he landed it, not if he would!!
Think about this for a second. Look how hard he was hit by Wandy in their fight! The "shot" that Shogun knocked him on his *** with, was NOTHING compared to the shots he was exchanging with Wandy, NOTHING.
THAT right there tells you just how fast you can lose your chin in this sport!
