DAGWOOD Contest

Tosh

There Can Be Only One
A Dagwood is a towering sandwich consisting of two slices of any ilk of bread, and whatever else (edible and delicious) you want to put inside.
Growing up, Dad let us have Dagwood making contests, and we all got to vote on the best one, which is what will happen here if you play along.
But, we had rules, and those apply here as well:

1. It has to taste good
2. It has to be at least 3" (or 7cm*) tall
3. It has to keep it's shape on the first bite

*yes that's less than three inches but everyone outside of North America has shitty hours to watch UFC so ffs at least give them this.

Credit to @motives for reminding me about Dagwoods and getting me to make one, thus inspiring the idea for us to post ours here and vote for each on a scale of 1 to 10.

Probably you will want to include a list of ingredients, because we can't tell types of cheese, bread, spices, chips etc. by photo. Thanks.

Meh i call bullshit on the picture, that aint a dagwood its two sandwiches stacked on each other. If it was a single layer of bread yes it would be a dagwood or at least a club but two pieces of bread with nothing in between it just two sandwiches stacked on each other.

Agreed. And her picture was from a marketing ad. Her instructions clearly stated:

consisting of two slices of any ilk of bread
I sense fraud and deception.

Pulling a marketing picture off of the internet is creative? I think the issue here is that you called for a contest but failed to produce your own entry. And the example you picked doesn't even qualify for the contest you made with your own rules.

Not the classic bread for a Dagwood but mine would probably look something like this. Definitely ham, turkey, and American cheese. Maybe roast beef but that is more of a solo meat. I find ham + turkey to be a fantastic combo, heavier on the turkey. Some lettuce, red onion, lots of mayo... seasonings optional.

That would probably be my sandwich. Pretty simple... no need to get all crazy here.

I would if i had money to burn and waste on something like this. Deli meat is expensive as it is and the only typical deli meat I like is Turkey and ham. I also don't eat as much bread i usually use tortillas. I do make Italian subs frequently. Chop up tomato's and pickles drain them, then add in Olive oil and oregano then layer turkey, ham, and cheese on the tortilla spoon on the tomatoes and pickles usually serve with potato chips (i prefer Utz Sour Cream and onion Ripple chips best sour cream chips) or French fries. Quick, easy to make and everyone loves it.
