Did HUNT or MIOCIC deserve the WERDUM fight more?

I'm in the Ben Fowlkes camp. Or, should I say, Ben's in my camp, since I was the first (in The Whole World) to make the same points Ben has made in his latest Twitter Mailbag -
http://mmajunkie.com/2014/10/twitter-mailbag-on-ufc-179-injury-shakeups-conor-mcgregors-latest-offer-and-more. Now, sure, I'm the most biased
Mark Hunt fan (in The Whole World), but reason is reason, right?
What Ben doesn't mention is that Stipe was KTFO by a guy Mark KTFO. What he does mention is this:
Ben Fowlkes said:
First of all, let’s put
Stipe Miocic
’s three-fight streak in perspective. He got there by winning decisions over Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga, both of whom seemed to completely gas out before the end of the fight, then knocking out Fabio Maldonado, who fights as a light heavyweight but probably ought to be a middleweight. I’m not trying to take anything away from Miocic – it’s not like it’s his fault that Gonzaga and Nelson couldn’t put up better fights, and Maldonado was a late and ill-conceived replacement – but
let’s admit that his case for a title shot isn’t exactly ironclad
. A win over Junior Dos Santos in December would fix that, but that seems like one more reason not to mess with that bout now.
That brings us to
Mark Hunt
, who, yes, is 1-1-1 in his last three, but in his defense a) the draw came via a
fight of the decade
against a juiced-up Antonio Silva, b) the loss came to former heavyweight champ Dos Santos, and c) the win was a
totally sweet walk-off knockout
over Nelson, who Miocic proved unable to put away. Point is, Miocic’s run is not quite as impressive as it looks on paper, while Hunt’s is not quite as bad.

Why not JDS?
Seriously, he beat both Hunt and Werdum by knock out.

well then i'll go with Hunt. it's one of the few times the UFC listened to the fans. the fans more than Mark Hunt got this title fight for him.
Stipe doesn't deserve a title shot.

Nelson took the Miocic fight on short notice as well . . . I prefer Hunt.

Hunt has proven himself worthy.
Went 5 rounds with juiced-up mythical creature, in the Heavyweight equivalent of a Frankie Edgar fight.
Knocked out the real life Kung Fu Panda, and then walked away like he didn't want to get blamed for a fart.
One could make the argument Hunt was just a victim of circumstance against JDS (except Hunt, who's too cool to make excuses).
Traveling issues.
Lack of recovery time from jet lag.
Broken foot.
Spinning s--- was all the rage at the time.
Gave Stefan Struve his most significant case of head trauma to date.
I can't think of anything funny to say about the way he crushed Cheick Kongo in 2 minutes... He made Kongo do a Rashad on the way down?

Has to be a joke. Hunt deserves it way more than Stipe. Draw against Bigfoot but he was ranked like 4th and the juice somehow allowed him to absorb a ridiculous amount of shots (s--- he usually goes down from, it was weird). And that knockout over Nelson, something Stipe didn't come close to doing.
I'd even give it to AA over Miocic. He just destroyed Bigfoot and he has a win against Werdum years ago that I'm sure Werdum wouldn't mind avenging, as well as being a former UFC champ

Not to mention that wasn't even a good version of Roy that Stipe decisioned. Roy took on Stipe on short notice. Roy had had months of prep time for Hunt, and Hunt dropped him so hard, Japan had to check the richter scale!

No one can deny that the Super Samoan Samuri is at least just as deserving as Miocic. No need to bust up a perfectly reasonable matchup between JDS and Stipe. The winner is sitting pretty just in case Cain hits a snag during rehab.

Miocic.
Easily.
Hunt got a really lucky break. No way he deserves this.
Hee hee hee, made ya quote. Actually, I much prefer Hunt. Can't wait to see this one...

Just between you and me Spidy, I'm actually not as dangerous as I look. Some think I look like an experienced scrapper because my face is beat up, but all it really means is I'm pretty easy to beat up.
Don't tell the others though.

Deserves it more? Miocic. But, Miocic is already scheduled for a marquee fight in seven weeks that he's been training for. He may not be ready to jump up the schedule to fighting a new opponent in just three weeks. Plus, headlining on Fox will net him more viewers than an interim title fight on a weak ppv card. More viewers means more sponsorship money.
I much prefer to see Hunt fight for the interim title, but Miocic deserved it more. The timing just wasn't right for Miocic.

Really no reason to rob peter to pay paul in this situation. Why break another UFC main event, especially a FOX one, to fix another. Both have earned it, it's just a matter of timing that's all. Hunt was in the right situation at the right time.

Who gives a f--- who gets it on less than a month notice? Plus JDS / Miocic is already in the works, there zero reason to break that fight up.

cause if JDS wins the interim belt then he'll have to enter the slaughterhouse (octagon) against cain one more time
