I only like tiebreakers for contention and tournies.
Yet I do feel there needs to something in place to avoid a situation like James Dumas is in.

Rankings will solve that. Also, people need to pm me respectfully and alert me to their situation.
Otherwise I dont have a tool to know what it is.
I think the way draws were handled previously was perfect. Guys didn't really suffer from draws but didn't move up in rankings either which is great. Only need for a tie breaker is tournys or title matches.
What should be laid out is set rules for how contenders are determined. Lets say guy wins 3 in a row then gets a draw. He shouldn't get a contenders fight coming off a draw. But if he wins another after the draw then that would make his streak 4 in a row and should be eligible for a contenders match if ranked high enough.
I like them cause you have them in the real world. Yes I know this is fantasy fighting but it adds an aspect and like you said rankings will help with Dumas's situation.

So now that you are aware of my situation, is there a chance I can get a contenders fight at the next JFF? Being new, I thought the win streaks were set in stone or I would have asked you sooner.
In the JEC I am 7-1-2 in my last ten and I will tell you, I like the sound of that over 7-3. They suck in regards to halting your climb forward, but I feel like it would really hurt to be given a loss when at the end of the night, you and your opponent had the same score. Maybe instead of resetting you win streak, they just halt it? I definitely feel they have a place, but if you have a few wins and the draw prevents you from a contender's fight and knocks you to the back of the line, that's a hard pill to swallow.

8-2 sounds better also
I would like to see if the people that are tied are above the average score for the event they both get a win and under they both get a loss.Contender fights stay with the tiebreakers.Gotta figure out a way to see total event points on the scoresheet or something like that, even manually wouldn't be terrible adding the already combined pts per match for the total.Still annoying but I like the idea because you would get what you deserve no matter what.

Interesting idea.
I don't mind draws, and I like the auto-rematch idea for non contention or gp. But the streak freeze is just as important.
Lets say both are on 3 win streaks, both streaks get frozen and whoever wins the rematch (or the next fight) moves up the ladder. That way the winner will still be 1 win behind fighters who also had a 3 win streak, but not all the way back in line for contention.
Don't like'em. Imo there should be a winner and a loser in every fight. Draws just do nothing and leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. I think the winner should be decided by who had more perfect picks.
