I know he hasn't been signed by them, but I wonder how Rosholt would do against the Strikeforce MW's? Others might think this is off, but I think he'd have a good chance against Shields..
The submission is an obvious risk, but the 2 times Rosholt has lost by submission they have been more or less "flash" submissions, whereas Shields is a methodical/slow moving submission artist - and Rosholt has the strength and wrestling to prevent Shields from gaining that sort of position on him while working his way to a G&P victory..

Shields is a wrestler and a submission artist . Rosholt will be stupid to fight him at the moment. Shields will manage to get the fight to the ground and sub Rosholt.

Jake isn't going anywhere near Strikeforce right now. I'm not sure what lead u to believe he can beat Jake Shields, but to each his own.
The only thing you provided were reasons he wouldn't get submitted by Shields. What DOES matter is the reasons he could BEAT Shields.
I'm a big Jake Rosholt fan. Believe me. But he's far off from being a title contender in any legitimate fight league. He needs some seasoning and growth in the sport. His stint in UFC came too quick and too soon. He needed to fight at the WEC level for a while before he made the jump. But obviously he couldn't do that.

id venture to say hes probably MFC, bellator or shine fights bound. he showed some promise in that leben fight. i wish the WEC still had the WW MW LHW divisions. the fighters who were forced to make the jump to the UFC were for the most part good fighters, but alot of them needed more pro fights to get their feet wet. only a few of them were ready for the jump like condit and sonnen.
but back to the topic, shields is a pretty good black belt and a great grappler. rosholt has some decent power, but as soon as shields gets tagged he'll take him to the ground. he's becoming like GSP in that hes a points fighter and doesnt care much for finishes id say. shields would win, but i think he would be a decent addition to SF's roster.

I think he'll get really good, he just needs more time to better himself.

I don't know what you mean by Shields not being able to get "flash" or quick submissions.. Have you seen his recent 1 minute guillotines over Lawler and Thompson?

Jake needs fights.
He should go fight 4 or 5 times outside the UFC to get experience and come back to the UFC near the end of the year.
Thats his best route.
