JEC Fighter of the Year Announced
While many would assume that Metalmike00 was a virtual shoe in for fighter of the year in the JEC that indeed was not the case. The requirements to be considered for this honor were to have competed in at least twenty JEC fights during the year. Upon careful review of the records it was determined that this years JEC Fighter of the Year is....
AVONBARKSDALE with a 17-7 record.
While there were a few guys that came in with 21-11 records, avonbarksdale boasted the best win percentage of all JEC fighters with at least twenty fights.
While on the topic of the JEC we were recently fortunant enough to catch up with the JEC President to get some information regarding the future of the league.
JFF News: Thank you for joining us.
Buffaloblue: Its my pleasure, I appreciate the news having me in here after the crazy week the JFF has seen. I would request that we keep this interview on the topic of the JEC and not let it spill over into other recent events.
JFF News: Fair enough Mr. President. I guess my first question for you is whats next for the JEC in 2010?
Buffaloblue: I think its going to be an exciting year for the JEC. These smaller promotions are really finding their footholds in the mma world and hopefully that means we could see upwards of 40 events this year. There are several negociations going on to bring at least one special event to the JEC this year.
JFF News: What special event are you referring to Buffaloblue?
Buffaloblue: Well all I can really say at this time is that it involves Bellator. I would like to do something unique and special with their 12 fight season. While there has been no decisions on a format, I do believe that Bellator could actually signal a series of events that dont see the JEC title on the line.
JFF News: Is this Japan or did you just mention non title fights?
Buffaloblue: You have to think about this rationally. If we run every even as a title fight that puts us at 40 to 45 title fights over the next year with a consistant fighter base between 32 and 48 fighters. On average, thats a two titles fights per JEC fighter. The reality of the situation is if we can find a different approach to the season formats of Bellator then we are setting ourselves up for a much greater success and make those title fights mean a lot more.
JFF News: Would that mean along with the JEC Championship, the King of Asia Title, and now a third title for Bellator you feel the expansion may be moving to quickly.
Buffaloblue: There are discussions about discontinuing the King of Asia Title and instead going back to an annual tournament to determine the best fighter in all of Asia. Again all this is preliminary and I would be lying if I didnt say it depended partially on our negociations with the Bellator organization.
JFF News: Forty or fifty events in one year seems like a lot for just one man to run, has there been thoughts of bringing on any help for the JEC?
Buffaloblue: The reality is that I have a vice president and sometimes I get so involved in my work that I dont ask for help. Pilqs will be coming back on board with a much more active roll in the league this year. If you can believe it, sometimes I even get tired of bossing people around a little.
JFF News: Any final thoughts?
Buffaloblue: I just wanted to thank the fighters for continuing to make the JEC a great league. I appreciate any feedback that they provide and look forward to growing as a president as an organization with them. Nothing is set in stone as far as changed in 2010.

Yeah, before I had the numbers I had to come up wtih a pre set criteria and 20 fights is what I chose (we had like 32)
By the end of the year show you would have matched a couple other title holders runs though.
A year in the JEC is a long time.
I was shocked when avon won honestly, cause I just didnt really expect it.
I hope to have a better way to figure FOTY in place this year, but its the time to build the spreadsheet thats the issue right now.

I demand a recount for JEC fighter of the year. No offence to avon, the guys a stud. Avon may have a 17-7 record, but how many title defences?
I dont know my record for the year but I do know it was pretty damn good. I also had 3 title defences... Tied for most in history before mikes run against unwilling competitors. I also had a 10+ unbeaten streak in there. Sure there were a couple of draws in between but my losses came to teamates. I just dont seem to try hard against a teamate title or not. s--- against Mike I did no training and did my picks in 5 mins or less.
I hope they have a recount or at least a poll of 5 guys with a list of achievements so people can vote.
Otherwise good interview and I know it will be another great year in the JEC.

What do you expect from DouchebagBows? His character is as low as reality tv standards.

I believe you and 2 others were around 21-11 Anarchy.
Winning percentage wise that would give it to Avon.

I wrote the article. The fact of the matter is that I knew Cast had other stuff going on, and feeling any sort of pressure to have to get a news story up was not what he needed to be worrying about. No one was online and the only way to get a quick interview was to interview myself (certainly not my first choice), but I wanted to get something up for the people of the JFF.
At the end of the day I think who is writing the JFF news is irrelevant. It should never be an attempted play for so called leverage which is disgusting in my book.
I believe we have enough guys that can do the news and do it well that the point of the news is the news and not who is writing it.
