Yup, first it was regime change and standing up for the 30,000+ who were killed in the streets.

Now it's "pretty please re-open Hormuz hand over the nuclear material?" followed by, "you won't do it, fine we'll end your civilization!!" followed by, "come on guy, pretty please with sugar on top!?!?!"

It's a disaster because there are only 2 real paths forward now:

1) Balls to the wall all-out war with boots on the ground... after Iran has had almost 2 months to re-group and re-strategize after we tipped our hand on how we'll approach this the first time.

2) Walk away with an Obama'esq era deal where Iran agrees to some concessions, but the IRGC remains in place and the regime continues.

You really can't go back to 'limited strikes'... unless you want humanitarian disasters throughout the region.


I'm honestly hoping for 2 at this point.

That's what thought a month+ ago but then they found the blockade option and both these option you mentioned suck, so there are probably a few other options like few days of strikes and then "we're out!" and others nobody here knows

A few days of strikes then we're out is the same thing as #2.. with the possibility of triggering regional collapse if Iran has indeed had the chance to position remote missile launchers all of the country and will deploy upon getting bombed.

The bad news is that desalinization plants all over the region were hit and now millions of people don't have access to clean drinking water.
