that's a fighter's fighter there. didn't like the stoppage though. I know the writing was on the wall but he'd survived those several times before and still found a way to get it to the ground. that's a damn title fight, let him cook

turning away, back to the other fighter and just walking away is not intelligently defending yourself.
Lots of people thought that chickie fight last week with Pacheco should have been stopped (karate combat) cuz that chick did that exact same thing (just turning around and walking away "must get away".

I'm ok with it, Taira is still young, no need to take a life changing career altering beating for a fight that was lost. In Boxing they would have tossed the towel (but MMA corners don't actually like their fighters)

Taira and Van certainly meet a few more times over the next 10 years.

The man has 3 losses at middleweight
1 to DDP who you'll note was a champion
one to Alex, a two weight class champ
and a split to Cannonier. (who TBF was not and will not be a champ)

that's a pretty damn good record. That style of his clearly works (somehow)

ALSO just fought 2 1/2 months ago. and did THAT to an undefeated fighter who many were putting on 'unbeatable' lists and talking about he 'smesh them all' yeah.

Strickland's entire body of work, puts his ass in the HOF easily.

A voting body of nonpartisans would be a great start.
Followed by a decent, wide ranging set of criteria set forth by a separate group of nonpartisans.
A 90% criteria met requirement would follow.

You can fill in the blanks.
You're smart for a Buff dude

The ufc hof is a joke.
For many obvious reasons.

We know Roger, Barry, Mark, etc. aren't in the hall.
So that eliminates a few of your fighters.

Fair, but then you'd have to look that Sugar Shane Mosely, Roy Jones Jr? Who admitted to drug and steroid use, so I don't think that eliminates GSP, and or Silva, regardless of their ped use.

It's why MMA will never have a respected, singular hof.
