This is the benefit of having home field advantage. In the US, some NFL football teams design their stadiums specifically around the average temperatures during the season. Like the Miami Dolphins having a non-dome arena so opposing teams are cooked in the early fall months, or Buffalo and Green Bay having brutal winter games. FIFA would never turn down a Mexico City stadium in a Mexico hosting world cup, and Mexico is smart to maximize their home field advantage as legally as they can. The teams were put into randomized lots, this is the luck of the draw. To switch venues and fuck over the people in Mexico City is a step too far even for FIFA.So far FIFA were considering the change but Mexico weren’t happy with that. Apparently the FA weren’t either so talks are still ongoing but they’re sticking with the same time for now, but the forecast for the exact time is looking dire.
