Can I just say thank you to everyone here for not filling up every thread on the site with discussion of the Cornell 'Jane Doe' story.

I can't seem to leave the house or open up the internet without someone stopping to give me their thoughts on it.

Glad this place is a sanctuary. (not being sarcastic, it's honestly refreshing)

It has infiltrated my social media quite a bit the last few days, prior to that I hadn't heard of it.

It's all that the kids at my daughters middle school are talking about apparently, so every day she comes home and wants to rip her hair out because her normal go-to of: 'can we talk about literally anything else? I don't feel like talking about this today' isn't an acceptable answer for all these young social justice warriors she is surrounded by.

Please, let's just let this one pass and not do the thing where we all become DEEPLY PASSIONATE over a story that happened 2 years ago that just made the news and which the target demo (in this case: wine guzzling soccer moms) are pretending is the end of civilization.

It's still all over my algos... I'm guessing it's because:

1) I was in a fraternity in college and the algo thinks, "oooo, this will surely get him to engage!"
2) My cousins wife will not stop posting about it and re-posting others opinions/hot takes. I don't block anyone, but I finally caved and put her on a 'snooze' for 30 days.

I usually block anyone and everyone.
The rule is, does the name contain a vowel, number gets blocked.
.. recently i only talk to people from Czechia. The rule doesn't seem to be perfect yet.

Well now that there's a pause on Lindsay Clancy for the moment, Karmelo Anthony's appeal will take another year, and Nolan Wells was ruled to have drowned, they needed something to fill the void.

I didn't go too deep but the basics seem to be: chick does drugs and a gangbang at a frat, says shortly afterward everything was consensual and there was no crime, the authorities agree, then two years later she decides she was raped and sues people.

Yes, even the most flattering versions point out that she 100% chose to go to the fraternity house, snort a bunch of ketamine, and take on multiple guys at once.

From there, who the fuck knows what happened outside of one of the retards sending a Snapchat post that essentially said, "free sex upstairs for anyone that wants it". (Which was retarded on his part)


With all of these stories I'm constantly amazed at the wild 'connections' and generalizations that are made... and I'm not talking about the polemics and professional ragebaiters (I've learned to ignore them), this is all from actual people I know.

This doesn't give away what you are talking about and it gives this mystical aura and everyone wants to know what you are tal... no this does not work.
