Many movies are good, some are great, but only a select few can be called truly "essential." After heated discussions, long negotiations, and a shouting match or two, the staff at Yahoo! Movies has put together this list of the 100 films you must see before you die. To choose the titles for the list, we considered factors like historical importance and cultural impact. But we also selected films that we believe are the most thrilling, most dramatic, scariest, and funniest movies of all time. Scored just shy of half, came in around 49 in a quick count. Better than I figured I'd do.

I've tried watching bits and pieces of Titanic because it is a James Cameron film, but it is truly truly terrible. With the exception of the detail of the actual boat that has got to be the most overrated sh*tty movie of all time.
It would be better to watch the one where James Cameron actually goes to the ocean floor and visits both the Titanic and the Bismark.

Apparently i've seen 59 of them, which isn't bad considering I wasn't born when it seems like half were before I was born.

Not my list. I got it from Yahoo.
My list would have Super Troopers and Predator (the one with Arnold not the Andre3000 story)

I would add In Bruges to my list as well. Colin Ferrels best movie.

I've seen 57 of them.
Some of them I had never even heard of (like The Bicycle Thief and Grand Illusion).
There are a number of more recent movies (post 1980) that I would think should make this list.
Cool Hand Luke is a classic that I'm surprised didn't make the list.

A lot of these movies are not MUST SEES. Certainly not, BEFORE YOU DIE! I've seen 43 of them and some of them I wish I could unwatch. Titanic being one of them. I would take the Titanic off and replace it with the Dark Knight...much better film.
