The higher seeds get to pick fight 1 & 4, the lower seed 2 & 3. That appears to be a disadvantage to a higher seeded team, as match up 5 is automatically made anyway. Or am I being dumb?

youre being dumb
if the lower seed gets 2 and 4, they by default are making the final matchup. that is why the high seed gets 4 and 5. the higher seed dictates 3/5 matchups that way

You can also apply Occam’s razor. The simplest solution is probably correct. What’s more likely is it everyone else or is it you. Statistically it’s very unlikely that someone fits a special category and is an outlier. Also we've already seen the abysmal failings of teams when they are “clone” teams.

you fought 3 times this year..you shouldnt be allowed, But it seems they only want numbers for team events and dont care if this place falls to s---. If a rule was in place that you have to fight every event even if it wasnt a team event in the ijfl ..numbers would rise all around.
