The UFC's roster of fighters is constantly fluctuating, and every fighter that loses a couple of fights in a row (or more) is in danger of being released. Not long after the release of welterweight Charlie Brenneman, the company has sent four other fighters packing as well. MMA Opinion has the news:
As well as the earlier news of the UFC cutting Charlie Brenneman - The UFC have also cut:
Eiji Mitsuoka, Michihiro Omigawa, Tommy Hayden, & Walel Watson
Mitsuoka (18-9-2) was given two chances in the octagon but couldn't capitalize on either, losing to Takanori Gomi at lightweight at UFC 144 and Nik Lentz at featherweight at UFC 150. Hayden (8-2) was in the same boat as Mitsuoka, getting finished in both of his UFC bouts by Fabricio Camoes and Dennis Bermudez. Watson (9-5) started off well in the organization by stopping Joseph Sandoval in 77 seconds, but three straight losses ended his run.
The biggest name among the four fighters was unquestionably Omigawa (13-12-1). This was his second run in the UFC (the first coming at lightweight, this one at featherweight) and he went just 1-4 in five bouts against admittedly tough competition. The final straw was a decision loss to Manny Gamburyan at UFC on Fox 4 in August.

A little gutted to see Omigawa go, he fought tough guys and put on good fights.

From Wikipedia
Yamamoto faced Vaughan Lee on February 26, 2012 at UFC 144.[17] Yamamoto rocked Lee early in the opening round with a right hand but minutes later was wobbled by a right hook-uppercut combination from the Brit, he immediately took Lee down but got caught in a triangle choke; Lee then switched to an armbar thus handing Yamamoto his first ever loss via submission. Yamamoto was subsequently released from UFC.

I didn't realize Omigawa's record was that bad.....none of those guys were even close to gatekeeper status. I say the cuts were understandable.

Watson was fun, but just not there yet.
Omigawa had to fight through some brutal competition. Sure he didn't win much, but he's hung in there with everyone; I'm not real crazy about that cut.

I hope to see Omigawa in One FC. I did score the Elkins fight for him, but the cut is understandable.
