Recent studies suggest we don't burn calories after medium-effort aerobic exercise, but what do you guys think about intensive workouts? Lifting - extreme efforts etc. - how long does the afterburn last, when is it at its peak?
When you have delayed onset muscle soreness, is that an excuse to eat extra, or is the growth (and extra calorie requirement) already done at that point?
Opinions? Studies?

I'm talking about in the hours and days after your workout, not in-between sets.
