Alright i was reading the headline with dana white talking about how aldo wants to drop to 135 and get the belt then move up to fight bj penn

WHOA awesome matchup,
how will aldo deal with cruz reach,unorthodox style,fast pace,good wrestling and striking, cruz speed could avoid aldos devastating kicks, this causes an interesting matchup, and cruz speed vs aldos cautious style
and aldos a great fighter i would definetly like to see this fight,
now aldo vs penn
penns boxing would not be competing with aldos kick since he neever checks leg kicks, maybe this fight would be turned into a ground war,
everyone says aldo has great bjj, but no one has seen it
all we have seen of aldo is his GREAT TAKEDOWN DEFENSE, AND HOW HE CONTROLLED FABER IN THA CRUCIFIX AND HOW HE CONTROLLED BROWNS BACK

I say give Manny a title shot just for the hell of it, then drop down to fight Cruz. It should be time for the merger by then. A UFC/WEC merger is gonna create so many insane matches. People dropping down, others coming up in weight.

If I were dana I would ban these ideas immeadetly, of course its intimidating when a champion wants to move around in weight classes, but he has 1 defend on belt, no one could say he's cleared the division, let him defend at least 3 times more and then start seeking more challenge, what comes of belts if everyone goes right away jumping weight classes they have gotten the belt.

For who? Are you assuming Edgar is going to lose his rematch with BJ? Are you saying Edgar isnt nearly as good as Aldo?

Unlike Penn, Aldo is a lot faster and utilizes kicks, so if Edgar starts thinking about striking with Aldo then he's gonna get his legs busted up like Faber's.

I hate these topics, when i see them all i think is here we go again.. Remeber after Mousasi beat up bablu, there was soo many post's saying he is top 10 pfp, he is the guy who would beat machida and Anderson Silva, where are all you guys now??? Aldo is a bad *** @ 145 in the WEC..(and im not even sure he could make 135, he looked huge last night against faber)... This is still the WEC, its a level below the UFC, even if it is a weight class that the UFC doesnt represent... This is BJ penn we are talking about, he is an alltime great and still in his prime.. Aldo is great @ 145 in the WEC, Bj penn is great @ 155, aand yes i know he just lost the title to frankie edgar, and frankie fought a great fight and nothing he did that night should be disminished.. buut i think if you asked most ppl, the best LW fighter is BJ penn, and i cant wait for the rematch.. Anyways to not steer of the topic, lets not start putting the carrot before the horse, we dont even know if this guy could beat maynard, florian... lets not forget florian is top 3 lw's in the world, he just cant beat BJ... Soo before we start saying this guys is the next UFC LW champion, lets see him earn his way into fighting a guy like BJ... And who is the last fighter who had success coming from the WEC to the UFC, sonnen and??????

I cant even read something like this without not responding... Soo your taking away everything Frankie did to earn the UFC LW championship, all the yrs he busted his *** to get to were he got, having to listen to ppl say he should fight @ 145, being an 8-1 underdog, saying he has no shot and you are just going to say he got lucky??? Aldo wasnt awsome last night, yea he kicked faber's leg a million times, buut did he have faber in trouble @ all, i didnt see faber rocked, or close to tapping... @ the end of the 4th he was rabbit punching him buut he wasnt doing any damage... when is the last time a guy who went from the WEC to the UFC lit the world on fire??? Let aldo come in a fight florian, then we can talk about frankie or BJ, buut this guy hasnt earn a shot to fight either one of those guys, aand if i had to put money on a fight like florian vs aldo i would take florian

Im not even sure Aldo could make 135, he looked huge last night in the cage, i would rather see a guy move up in weight by adding muscle than drop down and have a tough time with the cut and have it affect the fight

How do you get "lucky" when you win a fight that goes the distance? He didn't wing some crazy punch out there that connected to end the fight - he outboxed BJ for 5 rounds. That isn't "luck."

Sorry but I dont think you really know what you're talking about. Faber carried his front leg out in front of him, put a ton of weight on it, and didnt block a single kick. 15 seconds into the fight I said "I bet he's going to kick him in the leg as hard as he can" and he did. Over and over and over. Even when he was swollen and could barely walk he stuck his leg out WAY in front of himself and at times even locked his knee. Edgars movement is nothing like Fabers at all. Edgar did not "just get lucky" when he beat Penn. You can argue he didnt beat him until the cows come home, but the fight was close enough for judges to give it to him which means he wasnt lucky at all. He fought his *** off.
Hopefully Edgar beats Penn again and we can see Edgar/Aldo.

well, skill wise, Aldo is so far ahead everyone in the 145 that is scary... Now, 155 it will be sooo different, there are some pretty big weight cutters in that division, and size will be a factor... he will have to pack some good muscles in order to fight there, his reach will be very much affected too... But hell, if he does a smart transition, with the proper muscle gain, I will put money on aldo over pretty much anyone not call bj penn...
