Anton: Speaking of the next fight, there's been been talk about a match up against Junior Dos Santos. Has that been offered?
Alistair: Actually, my management is talking (with the UFC), and I hope to hear about it this week. About Junior, I can say it's a great fight and it only sounds logical to me because he's not booked for a fight, I'm not booked for a fight. Who else is there? There's not really any option available.
Anton: So what are your thoughts on that potential match up? How do you stack up to him stylistically?
Alistair: I think it's going to be a very interesting fight. He's a striker and prefers to fight on the feet, as well as I do. But I do believe I am more versatile. I have submissions, I use my legs, I am more strategic now -- especially now that I'm training out of Greg Jackson's, we work a lot on game plans, strategy.
I just see myself as the better fighter, but still, Junior is still a special case. He's a former champion, he's very tough, and you saw that on his last fight against Stipe (Miocic). He can take a lot of punishment and even if someone is pushing the pace, he can survive that. In every way, it's a very exciting fight and a very challenging fight personally.
Anton: When are you targeting to return?
Alistair: I'm thinking June, July, or August. Nothing too far away.

Lol.
The Reem's chin locked in a cage with Junior's fists for up to 25 minutes.

It's safe to say if reasonsble hitters catch Reem he's going night night, but if he a avoids that I will give him a chance here(albeit a small one). Furthermore, Cain has messed up JDS big time now and it showed in the Miocic fight, where he just was not the same fighter at all IMO.
It's a tall order of course to avoid being hit by Junior for 25 minutes and with someone that's noted for gassing late and chinny as Reem. Before he fought Cain I would've put everything on Junior killing him but not as much now, although I'll still pick JDS.

Overeem can't wear JDS down like Cain did. I don't think he will have much chance to fight safe & clever like he did against Mir & Nelson; eventually he will be caught. JDS can finish anybody with his hands, especially Overeem now that his chin isn't as strong as it used to be.
So, unless Overeem can work the body of JDS without being hit, I don't see him take this fight. JDS wins this 8 times out of 10, imo.

Punch drunk JDS shouldn't be looked at as a for sure lock.

Agreed. The two fights with Cain and the Miocic fight have me worried as to JDS and his overall health. Pre-Cain, JDS over Reem, all day, every day. I still think he beats Reem in this fight, but at this point I have a feeling that Reem has a better chance now than he did at any point before to get the win.

Cotton chin Overeem wants no part of JDS' hands.

JDS fought Miocic with a f---ed knee. Folks were talking about his movement, but when you look at that performance and think that he did that with a gimp leg, I don't think he's lost as much as folks think. You saw that once he warmed up and got his adrenalin flowing he took control of the fight.
I really do think the JDS has more in the gas tank than folks think. Now, do I think he's going to be showing the signs of those fights ten years from now. Maybe - probably unfortunately. Is he a guy I'd love to see retire? Yeah. But I think as of now he's stop got plenty of toughness and talent.

Based on his instagram it seems like JDS is getting a different surgery every few weeks.

This fight would be the perfect co-main for UFC 190.

Seriously though.... unless JDS is shot, I can't think of a worse match-up for Reem. An extremely durable JDS who hits like a truck vs fragile chin Reem? I can't think of anyway logical way Reem wins this fight unless he fights just a perfect fight. I don't think he'll be able to hold JDS down if he gets him there. I see a lot of circling by Reem and JDS stalking him around the cage. This could be a very boring fight early on.
