So the writers over at Yahoo.com have this story going
White said that Silva also expressed an interest in fighting heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, who is under contract with Affliction. White has made several attempts to sign Emelianenko, none successful.
Soares confirmed that Silva would like a fight with Emelianenko and said that size wouldn’t be an issue. Silva walks around between fights at 215 and Emelianenko fights around 230.
“We’d come in at about 220 if we ever got that fight,” Soares said. “Anderson thinks that would be a great fight for him. He didn’t say he expected to blow him out, but he thinks he can give him a very good fight.”

Randy hasnt even got a chance to fight Fedor and hes been trying for yrs i doubt that Anderson will get the chance unless he does it after his contract expires thats the only way i see this happening IMO.

All we can do is cross our fingers that either the ******'s in the UFC or the *******'s at M-1 come to their senses an work out something after Fedors contract runs out in the summer.
Neither will, but d*mn those would be some beyond super fights!

My thoughts exactly!
Remember, UFC will not allow any of their fighters to finish their contracts without signing extentions. Silva will sign an extension before this last fight, or UFC will drag it out or he will lose his last fight and luster comes off him. Fedor/Silva isn't happening. Fedor will crush him anyway!

I personally think Fedor is in for a rude awakening if he steps into a cage with Anderson. The fight against Griffin will say a lot about Silva's ability to cope with guys bigger than him. Griffin is much bigger than Fedor. A Griffin KO will quiet those saying Fedor's size is too much of an advantage.

But the contracts also have time limits - that is how Arlovski got out of the UFC. But, Anderson Silva would need to lose his belt before he could leave the UFC.

I take fedor in this fight IF it even happens but Anderson with his extremely technical striking could pull out a big W. if he takes fedor down it def goes to fedor. his punishment on the ground is miraculous and his submission game is tight so if AS wants that fight he ought to keep it standing up and he had better turn the aggression on for this one because fedor is no slouch.

GSP/Fedor have the best skill set in the world. Anderson wouldn't test the ground against a world BJJ champ and Fedor/GSP pound world BJJ champs into quitting or oblivion. There are severe hole in Anderson's game and I have been waiting to see them exploited but after the whole Leites situation I doubt we see Silva face a REAL BJJ CHALLENGE again. He will face mediocre strikers from here on out...
Face it there are BJJ champs like Leites and then there are champs like Maia, Andre Galvao, Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza, Roger Gracie and Xande Riberio.

Didn't Anderson learn anything from Randy? You don't call out Fedor when you're locked into a Zuffa contract. Who knows where these guys will be in their careers when there's actually a possibility of this fight happening. But if it happened today, Fedor would GnP the hell out of Anderson.

Well, who can blame the Spider? he's not getting millions for his fights, and it doesnt look like he's goin to get, no matter how good he is, the guy just doesnt sell ppvs... So, there are 2 chances, wheter he got too much into his superman hyp or he just want to get a nice big fat payday check for retirment... First asking for Rjj in a boxing match, now asking for fedor? next thing we know he will be asking for Brock, since we all know the fight with fedor aint gonna happen.....
