With all of the what if threads, I started thinking. Is there anyone besides the current 5 UFC champions, that you could see defending the title more than once. What I mean is, if all the champions retired tomorrow, is there anyone who would step into dominance or would the divisions be more open with numerous title changes for the next few years.

I could see Kenny being dominant at 155, Alves or Fitch at 170, Sonnen at 185, Jones at 205 and Velasquez at HW

With the exception of
maybe
Velasquez I respectfully disagree with all of those
155, While i think Kenny is top 5 at lw with fighters like - Edgar, Griffin, Sotiropolous, Sherk (imo too many ppl are counting him out after his last loss), Maynard, Sanchez (if he comes back to 155) i think itd too hard for any fighter OTHER then BJ to dominate
170, well you'd have two juggernauts in Fitch and Alves which could be a saga in itself not to mention strong challengers in Koscheck, Rumble and Daley, Thiago - so I could see that moving quite a bit
185, considering how easily Maia submitted Sonnen - and how close Marquadt was to both knocking and choking him out he seems far from invincible. IMO Hendo is probably the person most likely to have a dominant run at 185
205, Jones just seems too green (we'll see if thats true when he takes on Vera who IMO is a great match up to prove exactly where he is) and 205 is way too competitive with fighters like Lil Nog, Rampage, Rashad and Shogun. Not to mention up and comers like Phil Davis and Bader
Velasquez probably has what it takes if he truly has arrived, his size might be an issue but i think he makes that up with speed, cardio and wrestling ability.

I've got one his name is Jose Aldo he'll go down and win the 135lb belt in WEC while holding that 145lb belt.He'll take a few months off to gain some weight then come to the UFC LW Division beat Penn via 3rd round TKO(Cut) for the UFC 155lb belt and then retire from MMA
..I'm dreaming I know lol!

Daley at WW if he gets a ground game....he won't be able to stand forever.
Jones at LHW.... with some more fights under his belt of course.
any number of the top HW's....

the problem with say Kenny is, he's actually older than BJ, unless BJ retires early or moves up. LHW and HW is the best bet.
I say Rua when he beats Machida

I would say Shogun. Then Jones in few years. I can't think of any others that stick out in the other divisions, maybe Frank Mir - I'd pick him to take the belt over the rest of the HWs.

Im going to add fighters from outside the UFC also fr the hell of it.
My Choices are by Age (28 under), Wins(over 10), Experience (Named fighters fought) & obviously future (how they win, and where they'll be & improvements)
I see these fighters reigning supreme in the future if they follow the right paths that is. They all have the possibility of being champs & doing it for years. I placed a C by the names of the fighters who can currently riegn supreme

LW- Miller (26) Aoki (26), Aleverez (C-26), Guilard (26) & Melendez (C-27)

I don't think Daley would beat Rumble if they fought. That fight would stay standing and would be a great fight either way. I would put Rumble as the guy who can dominate if he learns a ground game.

Why can Alvarez reign supreme right now but Aoki can't? It wasn't that long ago that Aoki beat him in less than 2 minutes. Aoki is a guy who could very realistically beat BJ Penn IMO. That guy would have a very serious chance to reign supreme in the UFC.
I don't think there is any way Daley can reign supreme right now. He got 2 descent wins in the UFC against mid level fighter and people seem to think hes some world beater. :? Daley has shown zero ground game in his entire career, I want to see him fight Rumble just to see if his striking is really all that great.

Aoki has absolutely no chance of beating the current version of BJ Penn. He's a terrible striker. Besides the fact BJ is better at the one thing that he is good at which is BJJ. Jon Jones will dominate the LHW before too long.

cain (i think the only guys that will truely posses any danger for cain are dos santos and lesnar due to the size)
welterweights are so competitive its anyones game, and middleweights are not so good. so i can see each having their holes exposed. nate got exposed. maia got exposed, chael got exposed, miller got exposed, okami sorta got exposed n hed never get a title shot anyways.

I see great things in the future of Anthony Johnson. His loss to Kos was a major setback but I believe he will rebound and come back better and more prepared for his next fight, whenever that may be. He is gonna go on another huge streak again with some flashy knockouts and I see him taking the belt in early 2012 and holding it into 2013.

I don't see any dominant champions in any weight class on the horizon.
I believe we are going to look back on the last couple years as being a fluke with the complete, coincidental, domination of 3 of the weight classes... and I don't believe the champions of the other 2 are going to lose any time soon.

1.The fact that BJ has one sub that wasn't a rear naked choke completely set up by strikes.
2.The fact Aoki subs good fighters on a consistent basis despite everyone knowing that's what hes gonna try to do.
3.The fact Aoki has 14 sub wins in his MMA career and BJ has six.(again all but one was a rear naked choke set up by strikes not great BJJ)
4.The fact that BJ has never subbed anyone from the bottom, while Aoki has several.
5.The fact that Aoki actually subs guys from a standing position.
6.The fact Aoki pulls off subs that are just plain ridiculous, including hammerlocks like he was in the WWE except using them to break a guys are. Gogoplatas, neck cranks, and flying triangles.
7. The fact it took BJ 4 rounds to sub Kenflo (again set up by strikes) and Aoki less than 2 minutes to sub Eddie Alvarez.
Honestly can you think of one legit argument that BJ Penn is a better on the ground than Aoki?
