Dam I was so pumped to hear the UFC is coming to Australia, but this fight as a main event is incredibly disappointing. Wandy has lost 5 out of 6 but he is the main event? WTF? Seriously.
They had better stack this card with some better fights than this to hope for a solid attendence. As it stands I wouldnt bother going for this "main event"
They'll sell out regardless. Timing is going to be horrible for their main PPV market, so I'm sure they don't want to stack the card. Just be happy you're getting an event. The UFC won't be coming to Alaska, ever.

actually if they do actually put the show on Sunday, they could easily air it live in the U.S.

MMA is still very much underground here, the UFC have booked a 21,000 seat venue. With this as the main event its not going to sell out.
I wonder why they always seem to shaft the overseas fans. As far as I can remember, there's only been 1 title fight on an overseas card. That was 75 with Rampage vs. Hendo. But I'm not sure what other fights they can set up for a main event.

well wandy and akiyama are very famous over seas so i think a good sell. I can see hendo vs silva on this card. That would make sense

not unless Strikeforce does a show in Australia after Silva retires from the UFC.
:? ....
Wanderlei vs. Franklin/Jardine/Rampage/Liddell... were all great fights.
Akiyama vs. Belcher was better than any of the fights on UFC 100...
I suppose it depends what you look for in cards, good fights or big names. there's a 99% chance this will be stand up fun fight.
I would easily pay to watch this over paying for an Anderson Silva fight... and since Machida is fighting this week... that should be right around the time that he's looking for another fight... you never know, but it's usually better to be critical of a card after they announce all the fights. One fight shouldn't sell a card. it's not boxing.

They especially get the shaft by getting major ppv events for FREE on their local cable company broadcasts instead of having to pay $50-55 here in the states.... They really got the short end of the stick there !
Anyhow... this is ufc 111. This is far from a finalized card, and many of the biggest names just aren't going to get flown half way around the world to fight in a ppv.
I think the Wandy fight will be good, I think they will stand up and bang the whole fight, which makes a good fight. Wandys fights even though he loses are awesome, stand up and bang fights each time.

Good points . I get all the UFC events for free with my cable and if the UFC decided to hold an event in my country i will go no matter who is on the card cuz it is once in a life time thing. UFC 111 is like 4 or 5 months away so people need to be patient . UFC 109 in germany was a very good card and i am sure the UFC will give the australians a similar card.

I don't think most champions want to fly half way around the world and then have to defend their belt.
so you're paying well over $100 just to watch 1 fight (main event)?
I paid $240 for UFC103, but definitely not to "just" watch Franklin vs Belfort, but for the other fights and new names on the undercard who want to make a name for themselves and definitely put on a show.
plus going to a live event is defintely an experience that every true mma fan should try at least once in their life.
Only 1 fight has been announced, you should wait till the whole card is complete. I really wanna go but im sure tix will be expensive, im gonna start saving from today! MMA may be a little underground here, but its slowly creeping up into the public consciousness, these past few weeks ive seen 2-3 references to "cage fighting" on TV.

i think its a probelme of getting fighters to agree to these fights more than anything alot of guys don;t wnana fight overseas and be jet lagged like f--- before there fight and be tired not 100% but i think that may be a factor
is jetlaggeg a real issue ?
you're geting payed big bucks..cant u fly 5 days before and get used to the time? :?
i think is not beacuse of the fighters, its cause PPV in the US will suffer cause of the time diffrence.

Quiet you. Be grateful they even noticed your little island exists. OK, big island, but still.
