Greatest of all time. The HOF is a complete sham now that they're keeping guys out if it for accusations on something that wasn't even considered cheating back then. The league is just trying to save face now for the years they turned a blind eye. McGwire and Sosa brought baseball back to life and get zero recognition for it.

Steroids was cheating and against the rules since 1991. They just weren't being tested until 2003. But it was cheating.

And the league knew what was happening and let it go.
Also, I'd bet good money that all those guys stole Ken Griffey Juniors thunder.
Take away all the juice, and he's remembered as the real stud of that decade. Just an opinion, of course.

I couldn't agree more.

Fine. But that's not what you said. You said it wasn't cheating.
It was.

Injuries/Outfield wall stole Griffey's thunder.

If steroid use was that rampant lots more people would have been hitting 50-60 home runs regularly. Baseball players weren't choir boys but they weren't steroid users. Those numbers have no historical validity.
And yes, it was fun to watch. Just not historically valid as "records."

If only there were drugs you could take to help you heal.
Oh wait....

PED's have always been an issue with MLB, amphetamines have always been a much bigger problem than steroids. Greenies were the original PED.

If only the league actually took it seriously and put some sort of drug testing in place.

He had plenty of access to properly recover from his injuries and I'm sure he was very well taken care of. Griffey was a case of just being to fragile. I was more of a Frank Thomas and Ricky Henderson kind of guy myself.

Greenies were used so they could party all night and show up and play. It was an addiction problem more than anything else. Statistics show that offense exploded during the steroid era. From RBIs to HRS.
You had players like The Rocket who had their best years after injuries and the age of 34.

As I said, my guess is that he wasn't a juicer and he's being compared to guys who were. And really, you are making me much more sure that the juicers stole his place in history with your assessment of him.
I don't follow baseball so i never understood why people were adamant that he was on roids. Was it just witness accusations? Were they not testing? He never at all looked like a guy who was using. Just looked like he ate 3000 calories a day and lifted heavy.
