Jon Jones’s visit to Brazil can have earned him more than visibility in the country. In an interview during his presence at the Social Soccer Project which gathers together young people in “risk situations” and forms teams to compete the Homeless World Cup, as part of the TUF Brazil 3 promotion, Jon revealed an date with Vitor Belfort in USA, and that the Brazilian can be part of his team, the Jackson’s MMA, in the future.
“I’m not staying for the Saturday fights. Actually, I plan to train with Vitor Belfort in this Friday, in Miami. I’m going to see him in a private gym, we’ll train together, we’ll see if there is any chemistry and maybe we become training partners in the future. I don’t know (if he is going to Jackson’s MMA). He called me, looked for me, said he would like to train with me. I have to pass through Miami to go to NY anyway, so I thought on changing my flight to NY for Friday at night, lunch with him, train, chat… Maybe we’ll train together in the future. We didn’t develop any relationship; we just fought and developed respect for each other. Literally, yesterday he called me.” – says Jones
Belfort trained with Randy Couture after losing to him, so i'm not surprised. It can be beneficial for both of them...

Belfort is my favorite active fighter for sure. He seems a little nutty but the man can fight.

This is a smart move on Vitor's part. It will help him to further diversify his game. Also training with someone bigger with such long reach will help teach him to get inside easier.

Vitor is a smart fighter, he started the sport back in 96 and he has evolved with the sport and has always been one of the top guys around. I think him reaching out and making moves like this since he has done the same with Couture in the past as well is a huge reason why he has been so relevant in the sport.

Yes I agree. The biggest issue for Vitor is staying mentally tough and having the desire to win. He has never looked so self-confident and determined, because of that, he is more dangerous than he has ever been.

I want to clear the air that on the rumor of me training with Jon Jones. The office that represent me wanted to use Jon for a commericial in brazil so I called Malki. He was with Jon at the time and Jon got on the phone to talk with me. We had a friendly talk and he said let's train one day and I said sure one day let's train. It wasn't a serious talk about training. I am a Blackzilian and I am not training with Jon. He is a great guy and I admire him but the media taking to far.
