News: Bellator signs explosive striker Rafael Silva to bantamweight roster

Bellator continue to expand their roster with exciting prospects and seasoned fighters ready to showcase their skills to a wider audience. Their bantamweight division is stacked with elite fighters like current champ Eduardo Dantas, Zack Makovskey, Marcos Galvao and Luis Nogueira and continues to deepen its talent pool with its latest signing of explosive Brazilian striker Rafael Silva.
Silva (17-3) is on a 9-fight winning streak with five of those wins coming by way of TKO/KO. The Luta Livre brown belt, who trains under the legendary Marcelo Brigadeiro, has competed on the regional circuit within Brazil and is ready to showcase his skills in North America against Bellaotr’s elite fighters.
“Signing with Bellator is by far the best thing that ever happened to me,” Silva said. “It’s a chance of showing the world what I can do inside the cage. My manager always tells me how great of an atmosphere Bellator has and I can’t wait to be part of it.”
Silva quickly expressed interest in becoming bantamweight champion. “My goal is be the Bellator Bantamweight Champion and to serve as an example for all the poor children in the world so they can realize that they can have a great future in MMA.”
Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney expressed his respect for Silva and his team.
“Marcelo Brigadeiro’s RFT is developing a spectacular group of Brazilian fighters,” said Rebney. “Rafael joins Big Rig, Ricardo, Genair and Luis who are all further establishing Luta Livre’s position in the MMA world.”
