Nick Diaz vs. Paul Daley @ Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley
1) Hendo vs Shogun. Yes others were better displays of skill but c'mon it was a war between Shogun and Hendo...
2) Chandler vs Alverez. What a fight.
3) Frankie vs Gray 2. Another comeback and Frankie KOs Maynard who I have never liked.
I went with Frankie/Edgar III, Henderson/Guida, and Chandler/Alvarez.
This was a tough choice though, Hendo/Shogun was an absolute WAR, and the first fight of the year between Edgar and Maynard was absolutely epic as well. The only reason I didn't pick that was because of the unsatisfying ending.
Us MMA fans are spoiled, too many good fights!

Yeah, I liked 2 better probably too, but the ending of the 2nd one was so awesome that I just went with that one. Both were awesome fights though.

agreed, I was disappointed with the result of 2 but man what a fight that was.

Yeah it definitely was one of the best of the year. If Frankie would have pulled it out (like he should have), that fight probably wins my FOTY, but I'll just give it to 136 to be fair to them.
Im in shock that people think a 1 round fight was better than Sanchez vs Kampmann 3 rounds of war.

Not true actually. There have been other fights Sanchez has been in that I would never consider for FOTY, but this one is easily better than the Diaz vs Daley fight.
Sorry but I would rather watch 3 rounds of war with neither guy slowing or backing down rather than 1 round of back n forth that gets finished that round.

He is implying that people love Diaz and Penn so they voted for them, not through hate for Sanchez.
Sancehz is generally liked and had FOTY with Guida, not sure if his wars with Diaz and Karo were FOTYs but they are generally loved by everyone.

I could be wrong. I thought as a Sanchez fan you would love to forget that fight based on the mess Kampmann made of his face.
i voted for frankie / maynard 3
getting dropped AGAIN in the first round and then AGAIN coming back to win and this time KO's maynard. it was just epic and satisfying as a fan of frankie's to see him decisively defend his belt.
chandler / alvarez is probably my number 2. nice long back and forth fight with a good upset finish.
shogun / hendo was amazing, a matchup of two legends, but a tad slow in the later rounds as they were both gassing, especially hendo. there also wasnt a belt on the line.
diaz / daley is definitely the best round of the year.
