Best Macbook Apps

I got my daughter a MacBook a year ago and she's pretty happy with all the built-in apps.
What do you plan to do with it?

you must really love your daughter cause they arent cheap
I plan to work on some music and movies.....I got into grad school at USC for film start in the fall, so I thought I would need one for film school......stay in tune for the 2015 summer blockbuster directed by hitman

I just bought a two Macbook Pros. One for me and one for my wife for Christmas. I have been needing to replace our old windows laptops for a while now and finally decided on the Mac. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet because her's is under the tree and mine is hidden downstairs so as to not spoil the surprise. I'm excited though, I've never heard anything bad about them. Another big plus for me is that our local school district issues Macbooks to all 6-12th grade students and a good friends daughter is on the student tech board. I have my own tutor to get me transitioned from windows to Mac. I would be interested in good apps as well.
