Who is the top guy out of the Cesar Gracie fight camp? I would think it would be between Gil, Nick and Jake.
Man is that tough I'll take Nick though. I just love his fighting style.
Who would like to see Nick/Gil at like 165 (never happen I know) but how great would that be?

I think Gil is the best fighter for his division.

Jake has done more than both Nick and Gil, plus hes went up in weight to beat quality opponents.

Going with Jake as well. While the rest of the guys might have better striking, Jake is the superior grappler 10x. Not only with BJJ, but even his wrestling.
Fought in several different weight classes as well.

It's without a doubt Jake Shields or Nick Diaz, I'd choose Jake though because he has more solid wins.
Gilbert Melendez doesn't really come close to those two, and I can picture them dominating him with relative ease in practice.
Nick Diaz is the best striker at 170 while Jake is the best grappler at 170. After Jake taps GSP out at UFC 129 in front of thousands of Canadian fans I think Jake will have this debate possibly sealed, as Nick will refuse to fight his good friend and fellow team mate.

Jake Shields
He has accomplished so much more in his career
He's moved weight classes and held several titles.
Okami
Condit
Pyle
Thompson
Daley
Lawler
Miller
Henderson
Kampmann
Way more impressive

Both would have a significant weight advantage on Gil, so its no suprise they would dominate him in the gym.
Based on P4P skill I'd rank them Jake, Gilbert, Diaz from 1st - 3rd.

Technically he started his career at 185.

Shields has world class BJJ and good wrestling, hasn't shown good striking
Diaz has world class BJJ and striking, hasn't shown good wrestling
Melendez has great striking, wrestling, and BJJ
Seems to me that Gil is the most complete fighter, while Diaz and Shields have disciplines where they can dominate just about anyone. As someone said in one of these threads yesterday, if they could cross-train skills they all could be P4P best.
