Believe it or not, we are done with half of 2014. ALOT of cards through the first half and alot of sh*t went down. Here are my best of the best of the first half of 2014:
Fighter of the Year
International Fighter of the Year
Fight of the Year
Knockout of the Year
Submission of the Year
Event of the Year
Upset of the Year
Comeback of the Year
What are yours? You can also add more awards if you want.

Only things I would disagree with
Fight of the Year:
Matt Brown vs Erick Silva
Knockout of the Year:
Dong Hyun Kim vs John Hathaway
Submission of the Year:
Joseph Benavidez vs Tim Elliott (the only and only Joe-a-constrictor)

I feel like Matt Brown deserves fight of the year
that fight had alot less on the line etc etc...but it sure as hell generated alooooot more hype
the MMA world went insane for a good 2-3 weeks

Brown and Silva wasn't that competitive though except for the first 3 minutes, Lawler-Hendricks was a back and forth war

Exactly, Brown vs. Silva was a 1 round fight. Everything after was Brown beating the breaks off of Silva. Hendricks vs. Lawler was a war with both dudes blasting eachother in the face with full power. Also, it came down to the final round. Two to two at the start of the 5th round, winner take all.

Actually, I think UFC 172 is the event of the year so far.
Jones put on a technical masterpiece against a game Glover.
Rumble surprised everyone and beat the brakes off of Davis.
Rockhold subbed Boetsch with a slick @ss submission.
Miller subs Mediores in the first dominantly.
Holloway and Fili had a striking battle for 2 1/2 rounds until Holloway subbed him.
Benavidez and Elliot had a high speed battle with Benavidez subbing Elliot with his Joe-jitsu.
Gomi and Vallie-Flagg beat the sh!t out of eachother.
Beal and Castillo had highlight reel KOs.
Every fight on the card was great besides Correira/Duke.

I gotta agree here.... This wasn't the best Jones fight we've seen, but he basically picked apart Glover the entire time. Rumble came back, and looks like a legit contender at 205lbs.
Sub of the year though, easily is the "joe-a-constrictor". Only time we've seen it in the UFC. Same as when Jung hit the twister on Garcia.

Best half of year, when the Real BJ shows up. Worst half, when the fake BJ Penn shows up.
