The good news is that when the names finally come out, the backlash of negative press for MMA should be relatively minor, as there are expected to be more members of the big sports (NFL, NBA, MLB) on that list that will get far more attention than the fighters in the mainstream press. And if LeBron happens to be on that list...forget about it, the letters "MMA" will hardly be in any of the articles.

Oh ya... you think SportsCenter will even post the names of the MMA guys unless it's Jon Jones? Plus, I think a lot of the country still feels that MMA is a dirty sport - human c--- fighting as they say. So there won't be much surprise to them (as opposed to having thier virtuous MLB heros on that list) and there's no winning over those idiots anyway.
I think it's also they type of sport - it's similar to why no one cares about PEDs in football... those guys are already destroying their bodies so what's a little TRT or HGH?
Someone on the previous page was specualting Ryan Couture. I could totally buy that based solely on his dad. No way Randy was performing like he did almost to 50! without a little help.

They would if it's bad news and embarrasses the sport, ESPN would eat that up. But if we are lucky it will be overshadowed by the big names and big sports.

Some guy has been giving high-end athletes steroids. Baseball seems to be hit the worst, but apparently there are boxers & MMA fighters on the list too. Even tennis players.

It's kind of on the same level as BALCO. It's big news here in NY because A-Rod is one of the central guys in the investigation (go figure) and baseball just suspended Ryan Braun because of it. Supposedly they are going to go on a suspension rampage soon.

I have a big problem with this quote, "Guilty till proven Innocent" there will always be exceptions to the rule when it comes to how an INDIVIDUAL performs at an advanced age in sports. Big George Foreman, Bernard Hopkins are just 2 that come to mind and many more examples I could throw out there from a number of other sports. To simply assume someone is getting a little help without any substantiating facts to back it up is no better than witch hunting. It's really ashame that athletes today are lumped together as "probable cheaters"regardless of the facts. PEDs are a fact of life but doesn't mean everyone is using them

I take the mind set today that everyone is using something. I don't really see the big deal in it all really.... What happened to "if you ain't cheating you ain't trying".....Sure there is the "natural" way... But really, no one is natural today, that is why/how everyone is bigger, stronger, faster. I say let them take what every they want to, it is their body's they are harming, and if they feel they need it, then let them.
The thing I wonder is if this guy is a doctor... If he is, then he is braking the Hippocratic oath by tell everyone this.. I hope we never find out who is on the list...
And as far as the Ryan Braun thing... The MLBPA will eat this for brekfast.... His name is on a list, and some guy said he did something... No way the suspension holds.. MLB is just pissed he got away with it once already because their guy f---ed up...
And right now in MMA, the biggest bomb shell would be Chris Weidman... Not saying he is at all, just saying that would be the biggest IMO... Oh s--- right now....
Sap, actually agree with a lot of the points you made, or at least understand where youre coming from,I guess what it boils down to is you just can't lump everyone together regardless of what one thinks. Too many intangibles to factor in the reasons an athelete does/doesn't use PEDs. Does congress need to be involved? He ll No! Should Playing a game be more important than World Peace? Of course it is
. I feel bad for the athlete that has decided to take the high road and still has to defend themself from allegations made because they happen to be genetically gifted with a ripped physique or other such nonsense.
Unfortunately, allowing PEDs may turn out to be the only true way to level the playing field. Take em if ya want to and if not? Oh well that's your' choice but don't come crying to me! Pretty F-cked up really but it is only Entertainment after all

Just read that Braun has admitted to using, and will not fight the suspention...

since that PED lab was based out of Florida, I wouldn't be surprised if many MMA fighters, both high ranking and regional/ local fighters from camps near by are on the list. but we won't know who's on the list 'till the media gets a hold of all the names. just like top ranked boxer Yuriorkis Gamboa was exposed of being on the list in passing, the same will be done with MMA fighters.
I do believe UFC is better than handling the "PED" issue that's in all sports than let's say NFL, cause UFC for a long time was not capable of dealing with the issue while NFL always could, but were not willing to. throughout MLB's steroid era that went into the 2000's, NFL players, specifically defensive players, got bigger, stronger, faster. But 'cause NFL is the biggest team based sport in the states, there's a perception that they have the best testing system and policy, which is not true. it's 2013, and now, NFL decides to finally test for HGH. had NFL took the stance that MLB is forced to take now, there'd be a major hit on the PED industry. but they didn't and won't not just cause they don't have to know how deep of an issue it is, but cause they don't care to, cause of the $$ they're bringing in.
UFC to an extent does seem to have a similar approach to how the NFL deals with the PED issue. cause they're the top MMA promotion, fans think they have the best testing system, which they don't. it's far from proactive, and they're able to defer to the state commissions saying to the media "hey we're not in charge of that". but the UFC can in fact put strict policies in place to deal with fighters caught dealing with PED's. have a second defense lead to a release, have life time bans, or even fighters being written of the record books, etc etc.but like with most fight promotions, how UFC deals with those caught with PED's is based on they're relationship with the cheater. some get released, some still get main event fights. UFC are unwilling and unable to properly deal with PED issue, but the past years they were more unable to deal with PED now, it's more of a case of unwilling to. UFC really doesn't want to know or care to know how deep of an issue PED's is with their fighters so long as they can still make $$ with the fighter, if somehow the fighter caught using PED's hurts UFC making $$, then UFC will look to take action.

The funny thing is the guy who gave up the information has said that theres only like a dozen more names on it so it wont be that many mma fighters probably but also no football players are on the list he said.
