I think Rousey would do well in these tournes but it's really a different ball game in jiujitsu and not sure if she could beat them all. I still think Kyra Gracie and Penny Thomas would beat Rousey in a straight up Bjj match but there's 2 on that list that just wouldn't be fair as 2 are female HWs ffs lol.
I think she still does well though. Thoughts?

Rousey did say that she'd beat anyone, at any weight.
Honestly, the idea of her vs Gabi Garcia is hilariously awesome. I understand Rousey wanting to be vocally confident about her abilities, but a bit of humility would be nice. These are women who spend their lives training BJJ, not Miesha Tate.
I'm sure if Ronda was really serious about this, Metamoris would be delighted to have her.

2 hw's would be fair if she is saying she can beat anyone. Marcelo Garcia wouldn't complain

Yeah gabi slapped Penny Thomas around at Abu Dhabi and submitted her and it had nothing to do with skill it was more to do with the size and strength of her, the reason I think that is cuz Penny beat Sara Mcmann in a Bjj match. It really wouldn't be a fair match tbh and I agree Ronda couldve been bit more humble but that's Rousey.

I'm sure the Warrior Goddess would hold her own in a Bjj only competition. I'm "not sure" she'd be quite as good as she is in MMA, as we all know, it's a totally different animal. The possibility of getting Punched/kicked/knees/elbows to the grill is a game changer. She's a already proved she's a World class Judoka and athlete in general as well as a fierce competitor. Problem is she's already got quite a full plate. What would be the point?

I think I barely noticed when Rousey said that because it's silly. Not only do I not believe Rousey could beat any female in a BJJ competition, I doubt she's willing to back up her claim.

Would love to see her against Michelle Nicolini she's probably one of the most impressive BJJ practitioners in the UK at the moment.

Dream on pumpkin
Besides, MMA has proven time and again, having skills in all aspects of martial arts is superior to any one art in and of itself. Not a knock on Jits, just reality. It's called Evolution. Get in the cage if ya wanna prove yourself as truly the best Martial Artist

In fairness Ronda didn't say she was the best martial artist she said specifically that she could beat any woman at Brazilian Jiujitsu.

I disagree on your doubts about willing to back up her claim. If she can find the time to train and compete in a BJJ only competition, I am sure that she would take on just about anyone.
Whether she wins or not, is a completely different story, but something tells me that if you tell her, "You cannot compete in this, you're not good enough", she will take it as a challenge, and do just that.

I think she will be competitive at least. Her judo background could serve her well in a BJJ tournament, but on top of that, she does train in strictly BJJ as well, with Diaz's team (not exactly bad people to learn from). Does she win out? Who knows, but I don't think she gets crushed either.
Something about the Olympic level athletes, it doesn't seem to matter their original skill sets, they are able to take new techniques and apply them almost faster than any other athlete out there. Look at Daniel Cormier as well for an example. Dude started MMA very late in life (compared to other fighters), and was strictly a wrestler. Now, we also see that he has great movement for striking as well. Ronda also has REALLY upped her striking game (still not great, but a vast improvement), in only a few years. If Ronda dedicated some time (same with DC), to strictly BJJ, I could see Ronda winning a couple of matches.

Ronda has one of the strongest minds in all of sports. If she says she can beat the best Jiu-Jitsu players around, then I believe she can.

None of those girls are saying they'd beat Rousey in MMA. She's the one that said she'd beat any of them in BJJ.

You're both right and I get that. I have a feeling if Rousey decided to walk away from the UFC and focus on straight up grappling competitions she would quite possibly be a champion at best highly competitive at worst, which is why I voted not sure. Can she beat them all? Who knows? I think the Big girls would give her problems but I can't see this topic ever bearing fruit unless Ronda makes so much money in the next coupla years and says F-ck it, I'm gonna do it just to prove I can. Another mountain to climb and all that Sh!t

You can disagree but I still highly doubt she does it. She has little to gain from it and something to lose. Between fighting, media, and movies, I doubt she has the time to compete with the best in grappling.

Ronda would get schooled by most.
