I think Blaydes (with a win over AO) and Volkov would be ahead of him.

I don't think they are going to have anyone win their way to a title shot for a year. I think it's going to be Brock, Cain, and Jon Jones as those are PPV main events.

Curtis Blaydes (with a win over Overeem)
Blagoy Ivanov (with a win over JDS)
Ruslan Magomedov is coming back, and they might give him Mark Hunt or Fabricio Werdum
They aren't hurting for challengers at Heavyweight right now.

I don't entirely disagree. The outcome of Stipe/Jones and the status of Lesnar and Jones are going to have a huge impact on 265. I was just pointing out I felt Volkov and Blaydes (with a win) would be ahead of Ivanov, even if he has a spectacular performance, in terms of challenging next, or fight a no.1 contender's bout.

With Volkov I think he's right there. One maybe two fights away depending on what happens. Lesnar vs JJ at HW would be the fight to make. Lesnar cannot fight more than once a year so he should not be getting a title fight. I would put Ivanov vs Volkov as a title eliminator or even throw in Blaydes if he beat Reem.

I don't know if they would do that, Volkov is the 1 in Ivanov's record (16-1)

I don't think for a minute it was USADA that resulted in him slowing down, the 2nd and 3rd Cain fights took years off of his career. His domination of Rothwell came a year into USADA. Since testing, he has lost to Stipe and Overeem...nothing to be ashamed of.

They'll need more contenders to fill in after Lesnar/Jones fail the drug tests and Cain gets injured again
Didn't even know ivanov was signed by ufc. Good to know. Guy has a good chin and a clinch heavy game. Could be bad for jds. I'd like to see a rematch with volkov. The first round was close and then the second I believe ivanov got the td, but volkov reversed it and submitted him. Could be wrong how it actually played out. It's been awhile.

If I remember right the second Cain fight JDS blamed his testosterone levels. Said they were lower than they should be. My guess is because he cycled wrong. His body wasn't producing Testosterone like it should because of steroids/PEDs. He has trouble staying healthy. Again another effect due to PEDs.
And then you can find pics like this online showing his size difference over time. To me I think there is a correlation and him testing hot tells me he was always a cheater.. Just my opinion

Had this been a few years ago.. JDS by KO.. But as @MysterLynch pointed out.. Since the second Cain fight JDS has slowed down a lot. Even in the first Stipe fight he was slower then we have seen before. He has really only been fighting once a year since 2014 and it shows each time. Even in the fight with Ben, a few years before that and JDS would have killed him. i think Ivanov's durability wins out here. He is going to come forward and push this fight to JDS. He also has noting really to lose.
