Danny Green vs Paul Briggs
I couldn't imagine paying my hard earned for this. Embarrisment for Australian boxing and boxing in general.
I haven't been involved watching boxing as much since discovering MMA, and still like to watch a good fight but this is sad & a disgrace.

Australian MMA is growing everyday. This will only help the growth of it.

Your 100% correct. I watched 2 1/2 hours worth of rubbish fights (minus the willie picket fight) to watch that bs main event.
I LOVE boxing, but I HATE the people that control it.
The fight was a joke from the start, Briggs had 6 weeks to train coming off 3 years of no fights. Briggs was one of my favorite aussie boxers atm moment the only home grown fighter making much noise is Catsidis he is a juggernaut.
Antics like last night will only help the growth of MMA in Australia.

Boxing is hurting because people don't trust promoters to give them a good show that's worth their money. I still enjoy boxing but this is not good them.

I think thats the main difference between boxing and MMA, is that if you go to a boxing event you only go to see the main event and watch nobodies on the prelims. MMA has a fight "card" with recognisable names and guys we have seen fight before.
Yeah there can be a 30 second KO in a main event in MMA, but the whole card usually delivers.
And yes MMA is growing everyday in Australia but, boxing is killing itself everyday too with rubbish like this. Anthony Mundine calls himself the greatest but doesn't deliver the international fights against the best. Acer Arena had it's biggest crowd at UFC110, a hell of alot more than at Greens fight against a legend in Roy Jones Jr a few weeks before.
I think Green is trying to promote boxing in Oz the best way he can, but I'm starting to think he is losing an unwinnable battle.

Very true and its not just the UFC. DREAM, Strike force and even Impact cards generally have at-least 4 fighters that the semi obsessed MMA fan is aware of. I like good fights regardless of who is fighting but for whatever reason it is that much more enjoyable when you know who the fighters are...
