Do you think Bellator should try and pick up Brandon Vera for their upcoming LHW Tourney? Personally I think this would be a good move for them, similar to what they did with Roger Huerta. He could help pull in a few more casual fans and if he wins they have a marketable champ. If he loses he raises the profile of whoever beats him and makes them more marketable. Thoughts?

Of course. Surely it's a win - win for Bellator whether he wins or loses. Only question is what kind of coin is Brandon going to be after and can Bellator match Strikeforces offer. (Yes, I'm assuming they'll go after him given their recent signings.)

I wouldnt' mind seeing Vera in Bellator. But, don't think his nose will be 100% by the time the LHW tourney starts. I know the following season they are supposed to have a heavyweight tourney, maybe he should try to bulk up and fight there.

As good a place for him as any, really. Might give their LHW tourney some name value. Jardine would probably be good for that too.

it's a win/win for Bellator.
If he wins in their promotion they have a good fighter.
If he loses, one of their guys beat a former UFC guy (even though he was obviously cut it's still a step up for them)

Or perhaps he should just enter and win both of them, for old times sake? Seriously, though... the guy as as over hyped and rated as they come. He hasn't looked good since beating up Mir when Mir was coming back from the accident.
Let's look at his body of work....
Wins.. ..Kry Sos, Frank Mir,Mike Patt, Reese Andy, Adam Rivera, Don Richards, Andre Mussi, Mike Whitehead, Scherner, Justin Eilers, Assuerio Silva
Losses... Thiago, Bones, Couture, Jardine,
Werdum,
, Timmay...
Now, please, someone point out exactly why they think he'd make a splash in EITHER Bellator tourney or why Coker would be well served to pick this guy up??

Vera won't be medically cleared in time.

nope he shoudl pick up 1 win then go for it to pick up some momentum. a win agaisnt a can with now wrestling. 3 losses have a very negative effect on a fighter.

Come on, this is a joke and you all know it! If Strikeforce picked him up, all of you flamers/ bashers would be on here talking utter nonsense about them but he goes to Bellator and its a good thing? Just shows the true absolute hatred of SF on here. what a joke.

Hey, if Uncle Dana said it was ok for SF to pick him up, we'd witness love for SF, en masse. Alas, Uncle Dana doesn't like SF anymore, therefore the MMA Lemmings don't like SF anymore. Simple.
Personally, I don't want SF to pick him up. For one, I don't think he's a threat to either Gegard or even King Mo (can't believe I said that). Not a threat to Hendo or even Kyle. Vera just simply isn't very good AFAIC, and hasn't been in many years. He came along at a time when striking in the UFC HW division was abysmal, so he looked Goooood! Now, put him against the top Pride fighters of that period and how good would he have looked? How much fan fair would he have garnered?? See what I'm saying??
Hmmm..... 2004 Brandon Vera or Cro Cop?? 04' Vera or Fedor? He looked so good and promising because he was in the UFC, where Timmay was the HW champ and Tito was grounding and pounding folks... strikers were in VERY short supply at the time, let alone dominant fighters PERIOD. So..... Vera got hyped and Vera hyped himself. The lemmings bought it, drank the Kool Aid.... and have been hoping against hope ever since he got a just back from hell Frank Mir that this clown would end up being for real.
He wasn't and he never will be.
