I'm Canadian and I can humbly say we got nothing on Brazil. The sport is fairly popular here, but I think the only reason they were able to sell out the sky dome was because Toronto is still more or less driving distance from other big places like Montreal and New York. If they are talking about doing a 100,000 seat stadium in Brazil...that is just insane.

I'm not a fan of Brazils crowds. It's good to show hometown pride or whatever, but they are vicious to foreigners. They boo entirely to much (though most place do too, but brazil takes it to another level).

Good for Brazil....its great for them, will help with bringing in a lot of money to the country. To be honest i dont live in a place that i can see mma live, so it could be toronto/vegas/brazil/japan or china i am watchin it on ppv or SN1, so i am glad more countries are getting involved and spreading the sport out to a larger audience and allowing other places to "cash in" on its rising popularity

Could it seem worse because everyone in the crowd is an active participant?
Hard to get a chant or a boo going in the U.S. or Canada when only 25 people want to join in.

I prefer silence to boo'ing. Disrespect is . . . disrespectful. Cheering is awesome, do it as loud as you want and get as many people to join in as you can, but keep the boo'ing to yourself. Even cheering Brazil would be highly preferred to booing. Replace the boos with cheers for their own guy, or some other form of hype rather than disrespect, then Brazil would be the best crowd.
When I go to events, and idiots around me start booing (im in the US), i am ashamed.

I didnt only mean by the crowd, but the fighters, the champions, I would say the best fighters are brazillian. They might have the largest mma fan base and the crowds are crazy.

The US and Canadian PPVs are certainly more important to the UFC. Yes the Brazil crowd are crazy but Canada's money right now is far more important than some crazy crowd.
And big deal if the Brazilians boo foreign fighters. The US breaks into their boorish 'USA USA' chant all the time and boo the second the fight hits the mat. Which do you really think is worse?

It's not considered hate though. It's promoting 1 person. Like I said, they both have negative connotations, but one is passive and the other is aggressive. It's like the difference between saying "I like fighter A" instead of saying "I hate fighter B". One's a cheer (positive) the others a boo (negative) regardless that they are both achieving essentially the same thing. If Brazil replaced their boo's with a Brazil chant, I would be ecstatic.

Fight hits the ground for two seconds = booooo
Just cuz brazilians are louder doesn't really mean it is worse. They are just.. louder. It comes from the soccer culture, they have to shout louder than the other team's supporters.

The point is, Brazilians dont support American fighters, while Americans do support Brazilian fighters.
