The UFC was working to have Brian Stann (11-4) be a part of UFC 144 in Japan. However, Stann told JP Lasaleta of MMASucka.com that those plans went up in smoke.
“I thought I was fighting on the UFC card in Tokyo. I thought I was going to fight a gentleman by the name of Ikuhisa Minowa or “Minowaman” (51-32-8) and unfortunately, you know, the fight didn’t happen. He actually asked to fight me. I agreed and then for some reason it just didn’t materialize.”

In case you didn’t know, Brian Stann was actually born at Yokota Air Base in Japan but grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania. However, the American hero was really pushing to fight in Japan at the Saitama Super Arena on February 25th, 2012.
“From what I was told by the UFC, I think they already filled the main card for that one, so there’s not really any room for me anymore.”

I dont see why they can't put this fight in the prelims, it's not even good enough to be in the main card anyway. It'd be a nice lead in fight to the PPV

ProElite 3 – Kendall Grove vs. Ikuhisa Minowa slated for January 21st in Hawaii
“Ultimate Fighter” season three winner, Kendall Grove has been lined up for his most high-profile post-UFC fight yet after it was revealed he’ll take on Japanese superstar, Ikuhisa Minowa on the ProElite 3 card on January 21st in Hawaii.
A source close to the situation revealed the news to MMAFighting.com earlier today. ProElite officials are yet to confirm it.
Grove got back to winning ways after a string of losses inside the octagon when he defeated Joe Riggs on the ProElite 1 event in August. He ended his first run with the UFC with a 7-6 record inside the octagon.
Minowa, known for taking on a string of super heavyweights in Japan and getting the job done, will be making his ProElite debut in this one. He has fought over the years for Pancrase, PRIDE, DEEP, DREAM, and once in the UFC.

Are we being serious? Because in a serious world Minowaman fights freak fights and loses to 4-11 fighters like Shibata and gets knocked out by Judo specialists like Izumi.
His 4 fight win streak is against guys with a total record of 4-8.

I WOULD love to see Minowamann in UFC!!!!! It would be so freaking epic!!!! I dont give him much of a chance to beat Stann but it would be soo cool, kinda like Renzo fighting Hughes, or Cung Le......UFC most def should give Minowamann a shot and also Sakuraba

I know he doesn't but he stated because he would be looked as the bad guy since Stann is an american "hero" but in Japan i would think it is the reverse situation there.
