I know someone who got assaulted this weekend and had his jaw broken.
The people at the medical office are dragging their feet and claiming that maybe by tomorrow they could get around to wiring his jaw.
Is there any danger in not addressing this immediately???

No It doesnt heal instantly, it can be put on its place tomorrow also, no harm here.

It's my stepson in California. Got jumped walking home. They stomped on his head against the asphalt.
The police say there's a bunch of assholes going around town jumping random people. There were 6 assaults in one night.

A lot of victims are afraid to testify due to fear of retaliation, according to the police officer.
Nothing bothers me more than p---- bullies. I wish you guys were closer. I would love to round up a few of the boys and have a lil vigilante justice. A broken jaw sucks ***.

My stepson was with a buddy. He remembers nothing so I'm not sure if he got blindsided. The buddy thinks he might know those guys but he "lives alone" (19-year old who lives with siblings only because one parent died and the other can't take care of them) so he is afraid to testify (though I'm talking to my ex-wife to make sure the police doesn't drop the case).

I'm sure he could somehow testify without bearing witness to his name or his face. I can see him being afraid of retaliation....but come on man. Your buddy almost died. You would want him to testify if the tables were turned. But there has to be a way in this day and age to testify, anonamously or something?

I'll ask his mother. The cop said that most people who are afraid to testify shouldn't be so afraid because retaliation is extremely rare.
We had the Little League World Series north west region tourney in our town the last year I was in high school. There was this team from Seattle who went around all week jumping people like 6-8 on 1. About 4-5 of my friends got jumped and it seemed about 30-40 people in total. So douche bag jumpers were all wearing their team hats and sometimes shirts with the name and logo so everyone knew which team it was. There was a huge party the night before the finals which the team from Seattle made vs a team from my town; at this party the word got spread that people were going to meet at the ball park and exact a little payback. I was at the skateboard park which was at the same park and I noticed car after car of young people showing up for the game so we all went over and singled out the people who had jumped one of my good friends for the crowd.
So the game ends and as the Seattle team is leaving the field about 40 people make their way to field exit and start jumping the whole ball team and their coaches. So the teams parents get involved which causes more people to jump in and full on 70 or person brawl starts on and off the field for about 20 minutes until the cops showed up.
By far one of the craziest things I have ever seen and been a part of.

Generally you can't testify anonymously. Retaliation is highly unlikely to happen, especially if its just young punks. Tue stomping or even kicking of someone is Assault With a Deadly Weapon. That could bring serious time in jail. Our resident site Cholo lives in MoVa maybe he can put his ear to the street and get some info?
Maybe when the stepson is healed up he could see about some MMA classes... Not that MMA will prevent a 6 on 1 but it would inspire confidence about handling ones self amongst hooligans.

A few of em were beaten with their own bats and the team got a police escort to the ferry. I don't think charges were laid at all and it was a few years before we hosted any major sports events again. :lol:

Defendants (in America) have the right to confront their accuser, which makes it hard to testify against someone anonymously. It's not unheard of, but it's rare.
