Even though she lost the title in devastating fashion. I'm glad she's back cause it improves the division. JJ beats her in any situation. But after Carla won the title, she seemed off. She complained and whined expecting certain things to come her way cause she was a vet and wanted to be treated a certain way cause she was the champ. So the time off probably helped her mentally rejuvenate.

I remember her saying she wanted some time off but had to make a quick turnaround for Joanna. Also she said her shoulder (which has kept her out since that fight) was injured during that fight.

She had a couple moments in that fight as well, she just seemed really off in the cage compared to other fights

Carla by sub....glad to see her back. Always been a fan. She'll aways be top 5 IMO

Top 5 for now. It's a tough thing to avoid but all you need to do to beat Esparza is avoid her takedowns. Her stand up is not that good at all. As good as Torres and Namajunas have looked lately I wonder if they can beat Esparza now? Regardless I think she gets beat by JJ or Gadelha any day of the week and I don't ever think she will be a champion again in the UFC.

Yeah, the new division couldn't afford to have it's champ not fighting often. I think the division is better off with JJ cause her style and manner of winning draws fans in. It's not often talked about , but sometimes fighters mentally prepare to only become champs but don't or can't mentally prepare to stay champs. I think Carla wanted to receive the benefits of becoming a champ without realizing it's a new division that first needed to gain momentum. She's also come up during a grueling time for female fighters in an overlooked division. So no matter what the reason was, she needed time off.

It is interesting though looking at women that some of them needs more time to swallow the defeat. Carla got doomed and getting back now?
Ronda probably will be a year off if she gonna be back fighting. Cat also over a year layoff. We do not have such a situation with men. At least to the extend.

She had 1 takedown I think. Other than that I can't think of any moments other than JJ putting fists to her face.

Some of what you are saying is true but Carla's title reign is a result of good timing. That's it. In such a young division 2 of the fighters that were on the TUF season are no longer in the UFC and we are not even talking about fighters that should be gone already like Magana.

She had one very brief moment. Her take downs are poorly set up and were on the show too. I loved watching her get crushed..hated her on that show. Such a c*nt.
I hope she earns a rematch just so I can watch her get s--- kicked again

Some of it is injuries or being financially stable enough to take time off to deal with lingering injuries. And of course it's dealing with when the loss took place. Carla came up when WMMA and her division wasn't going to bring with it much rewards. To go from that to becoming the UFC champ only to lose it with none of the rewards has to be tough. But I think she needed a mental break before the loss.
I don't think she can beat JJ or Gadelha. But she can still be a top 5/ 10 contender, and who knows, maybe a new champ emerges whose a right style match up for her.

She was far from a horrible person on that show compared to the people she was associated with but your personal feelings are your personal feelings.

Well there are varying levels of filth in this world. She was sure not the worst but hardly innocent.

Everyone's guilty before proven innocent in this day and age. That's just the way people think
There are types of filth that make judgments on strangers based on reality television as well

Well I was more pointing to the mental toughness or needed break to recover psychologically
