Alan Patrick
(12-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and now meets
Beneil Dariush
(8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) next month at UFC 179.
UFC officials today announced the change after Patrick
suffered a broken jaw
while training.
UFC 179 takes place Oct. 25 at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanazinho Gymnasium. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Ferreira vs. Dariush is slated to kick off the main card.
Ferreira, a 29-year-old Brazilian who joined the UFC after a title run with Legacy FC, is 2-0 under the UFC banner. He earned a 38-second submission win over Colton Smith in his June UFC debut, and two months later, he scored a TKO victory over Ramsey Nijem.
Dariush, a 25-year-old Iranian, recently rebounded from his first career loss, which came via TKO to Ramsey Nijem, with a submission victory over Tony Martin at UFC Fight Night 49. He now has seven stoppages in eight career wins.
With the change, the UFC 179 lineup includes:

I love this fight. It shows that CDF wants to fight because he took a fight against a guy who got pummeled by the guy he just KO'ed.

Beneil has a slight edge but could go either way, love both guys

This might be FOTN IMO. Both guys are known finishers, have high level BJJ games and always improving stand up to go with the power they already possess in their strikes. Benny can take more punishment than Ramsey IMO but hopefully it doesn't get to that point. Hope to see some fun scrambles from these two though

Damn, much better fight! Would love to see the local boy Benny win, but CDF has looked like a stud in both apearences in the octogon. Cant wait to watch!

I have zero interest in most fight including the co-main
Burns, this matchup, and main event are the only good ones so far

also seems like the UFC believe in Beneil
he lost to Ramsey who he should've beat and a win later they give him a guy who just beat Ramsey
