Since a Carwin thread turned into why Nelson is or isn't a top ten fighter, lets see who people think Carwin will actually face in Vancouver. I see two scenarios: 1 He fights either Cheick Kongo or Ben Rothwell who are currently UFC fighters. 2. The UFC signs Pedro Rizzo or Tim Sylvia if he wins convincingly later this month.
My prediction is Pedro Rizzo

Probably Kongo.
Would be funny if it was Tim Sylvia though.

There was an article written a couple of weeks back on fiveouncesofpain.com saying Rizzo and the UFC were in ongoing discussions

Maybe Kongo or Mitrione. Hopefully Mitrione, he's been finishing fights while Kongo hasn't.

i think they will def. give him KONGO cuz its more marketable then rothwell. and kongo better Not try and wrestle with carwin like he has been doing cuz he will get tossed.

Struve just fought, and I don't think they would. He got dropped by Nelson; I can only imagine what Carwin would do to him.

My guess is Pat Barry/Kongo
Everyother heavyweight is tied up and will not have enought time to prepare for a June fight. If Barry wins next week, he has plenty of time for a fight in June. The UFC could market it as a strikers battle. Would actually be a big fight
The only other option I see is Kongo. He is a big fit guy, can be marketed easily

My money would be Nogueira or Kongo. I don't think they would put Rothwell against him. Actually, come to think of it, Struve would probably make more sense.

Big nog is a legend in Brazil. They will give him a fight on the card in Brazil against someone he should beat ( Kongo) I really think if Pat Berry wins next week he gets Carwin. If not that changes things up a bit

Struve is booked against Travis Browne at UFC 130. Schaub is booked against Cro Cop at UFC 128

I just did a quick cursory glance of all listed UFC Heavies. Only 3 that I can be sure might possibly be open at that time are Kongo, Big Nog, Herring, and Rob Broughton.
Broughton is too new to throw in, I think.
Big Nog may or may not be recovered from knee surgery.
Herring hasn't fought since Brock at UFC 87 (and has been doing movies).
Kongo is the only one free, who isn't hurt.
Barry/Beltran are fighting at Fight for the Troops.
Browne/Struve @ UFC 130.
Cro Cop/Schaub at 128.
JDS/Lesnar whenever.
Hague/Mitriione at Fight for the Troops.
Hunt/Tuchshchereererer at 127.
Madsen/Russow at Fight Night 24
McCorkle/Morecraft at Fight Night 24
Nelson/Mir at 130.
Perosh is fighting a new guy at 127.
Rothwell and Cain are both hurt and Hardonk retired.
I also assumed, for "matchmaking" sake, that everyone gets hurt and is out for a decent amount of time. There are plenty of time for some of these matchups to happen and the fighters be ready, but what fun is that?

Wow
It's good to see TBA finally making the big leagues
He deserves it after being on every Strikeforce card

Difference is this fight won't happen for 6 months. Not 6 weeks.
