@Eranys put out an amazing tutorial video.Call me crazy but that looks WAY easier for chopping veggies than your typical chefs knife. Is that true?
It's like the "leatherman" of kitchen tools.I need a fkn ulu!
Many years ago I was sent back and forth by the POS Chief Warrant Officer in charge of a pretty large budget of the IDF to bring all kinds of presents to his buddies when they came to visit among other things like carrying stuff all across the base, despite doing more important things in my actual position, well he didn't give a fuck and called me whenever he felt like to come quick and carry this and that even if there's about to start a war and I'm needed lol. Not like I was some combat soldier but hated him and his runarounds. I knew all of that was off-the-books so I took a leatherman here, a GPS device there, sold some of them for good money back home. Didn't feel like I'm doing anything wrong lol. It's like the "leatherman" of kitchen tools.
Lmao, I figured most non US would have no idea. I'm actually shocked that its known worldwide. Then one day he gets arrested by the military police for defrauding the Ministry of Defense by falsifying delivery records for hunreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment that was covertly diverted to his private home and family as a kickback, me and my friends from back then still laugh at this to this day. Got 20 months in prison (probably served less) while so close to retirement and full pension, what a dumbass
Years later after univeristy graduation I was interviewed by a defense company, they asked if I ever took anything to myself during my service and obviously I came forward and said are you kidding, absolutely not!!!
Yeah, that's my first association of the word "leatherman".
RIPYou know what...you're dismissed. What's next? You gonna tell me about your favourite colour?

Any swiss army knife here is called "leatherman" whether that's its brand or notLmao, I figured most non US would have no idea. I'm actually shocked that its known worldwide.
I'm just a small town honky. You'd be amazed what I think vs what I dont know.
Nvm, I just proved it.
Scissors are great. They are incredibly multi purpose, and probably the best pizza cutters ever.
I didn't use mine and gave it to Salvation Army. I could understand the purpose if I was trying to skin a walrus with 4 inches of skin/blubber. Shoving my hand in a carcass like that would require a tool like an ulu. Otherwise, I just use my chef knife, santoku, or cleaver. They are each more refined and easier to manage.I need a fkn ulu!
Huh? I am from Pennsyltucky. OF COURSE I know what a Leatherman is, but we couldn't afford the branded ones and bought knock-off Chinese multi-toolsLmao, I figured most non US would have no idea. I'm actually shocked that its known worldwide.

Then do not waste your money on an ulu if you have those two already. And if you do not have a cleaver, make that your next knife purchase. There is little as gratifying in the kitchen as chopping through bones with a freshly sharpened cleaver. I "cube" my rotisserie chicken carcasses with ease and I can get so many more in the pot doing that. Literally two chops as I turn the cutting board.Same.

The cleaver would be my go-to weapon in my real life Gangs of New York Rumble when it never happens because my broad sword is two unmanageable in close spaces. ;)
Probably a Chinese Chefs knife as opposed to a cleaver. Great knives if you get used to em. Slightly different to a cleaver but not by a whole lot in a domestic kitchenYep! I'd go full "Bill the Butcher"! 100% lol.
I thought the vid showing it's versatility was cool, but doubt I buy one; I'm fine with the two knives I have.
I've thought about a cleaver. I used to watch a lot of this Chinese cooks vids on the Youtubez, and he used a cleaver 100% of the time.

Exactly that, fine enough to chop herbs and strong enough to cut meat, but you'd not want to use it to axe through tough bones like a proper cleaverOh, that could be. I just know it was cleaver shaped, but maybe lighter and sharper?
