What about the differences in a self defense/murder capacity?

Asking for a friend.

I didn't use mine and gave it to Salvation Army. I could understand the purpose if I was trying to skin a walrus with 4 inches of skin/blubber. Shoving my hand in a carcass like that would require a tool like an ulu. Otherwise, I just use my chef knife, santoku, or cleaver. They are each more refined and easier to manage.
For me it is a niche tool, but at its niche, it excels. Using a rocking motion you can slice things like green onions ridiculously fast. There are a few tasks which it has no peer. There's nothing wrong with having more options.

Works great for caping deer, it's "niche" uses are subjective to the user. A blade is a blade, know how to use it, or buy 100 different knives for certain purposes that one you already own does the same thing.

Zero regret about making the decision to kick the wife out, today has felt like I finally got the lead jacket off my back.

On to brighter days. I appreciate the kind words from all yall. It's something that has needed to happen for quite some time.

Enough of that bs, time for more dick jokes.

I won't try to keep you on the subject any longer than you care to be, but just know you can hit me up anytime if you need to talk. It can be rough after that amount of time together even if it did need to happen. Anyway, just letting you know, homie.

With unlimited funds, sure. But I guarantee you that I can slice, dice, mince, or whatever you want to do with my chef's knife faster than you can do any typical kitchen task with an ulu. That is why literally millions of chefs around the world use those knives instead of an ulu. Almost every kitchen knife is more efficient than an ulu.

I would like to know the task for which it has no peer. Anything more than skinning a walrus or whale, in my mind, is questionable simply because of the ergonomics of the handle. It's made for long sweeping cuts of thick material where you do not have to be perfect on your cut, and even when I tried to take the fat back off a pork roast, I had trouble keeping it on target.
