I dunno, I think there was a decent amount of overlap between grunge and classic rock.


Alice in Chains were influenced heavily by Black Sabbath

Soundgarden were definitely influenced by Led Zeppelin.

Screaming Trees were influenced by CCR


Not in any way trying to say that grunge was peak music or suggest that it was better than classic rock.

I more or less agree with ABB on this one. Grunge had it's place in time.... even if a lot of it didn't stand the test of time.

I started with Elvis lol... Then I moved up to KISS and now I listen to almost all things metal. Right now, I'm deep in Deathcore and Hardcore.

I don't get "it's dogshit" when so much of it borrows so heavily from metal and classic rock (guitar heavily, riff-centric)

Hey Dank, you keeping up with ICP lately? I was in the Great Milenko fan base back in the late 90's, because they showed up to AL Gators. I was a complete Juggalo for a while. I know it sounds weird, but it's the truth. I even went to a show in DC, and took my sister and brother-in-law. I got kicked out, for some reason. Well, I know why--that was my first DUI and I didn't have a license, and wanted to buy a beer. (I got resolved of that situation too).

But, I know you are an ICP guy. I haven't listened to anything since the final, first joker card, which I think was the Wraith, ShangGraLa.

Good memories from that Great Milenko show. I liked Ringmaster and Riddlebox after that.

I know I'm all over the place with my music and experiences, but that's how it happened.

Looking back at my life, I've been a complete nutcase. It started early, but my experience with Sigma Tau Gamma really made me crazy. That was in 1994, when hazing was out-of-control. I think it made me crazy.

I've repented since then, but I'm still crazy.
