MMAJunkie
Add another bout to the UFC's third trip Down Under.
Sources close to the event today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that a featherweight bout between Cole Miller (18-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Steven Siler (19-9 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is set for UFC on FX 2. The matchup was first reported by The MMA Corner.
"UFC on FX 2: Kampmann vs. Alves" takes place March 3 at Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia. The event's main card airs live on FX while preliminary fights head to FUEL TV.
Miller returns to the cage at 145 pounds following a second-round submission win over lightweight T.J. O'Brien at UFC on Versus 5, which muted a decision loss to Matt Wiman at "UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2."
The American Top Team fighter was 7-3 as a lightweight following his turn on "The Ultimate Fighter 5" with four performance bonuses, three for "Submission of the Night" and one for "Knockout of the Night."
Siler recently emerged from a stint on "The Ultimate Fighter 14" with a decision win over Josh Clopton on the reality show's live finale.
Prior to his appearance on "TUF," Silver, who trains out of Victory MMA, was submitted by UFC vet Cole Escovedo in regional competition. The setback snapped a four-fight win streak that followed a 44-second knockout loss to now-UFC contender Chad Mendes.

I feel sorry for Steven Siler, i dont think the weight cut will effect Cole and think he gonna run straight through this guy.

How do you know the cut wont affect him? Cole is like 6'1 and who knows what he cuts to make 155, he is already a big LW so the cut to FW could be very draining, guess we will wait and see.

Steven Siler is the guy that took out Micah Miller on TUF

I like Steven SIler. When he beat Micah Miller, him and Diego were my favorites to win (guess I picked well).
Miller is a big lightweight and think the cut will affect him. That said they are throwing these TUF guys to the wolves. Bedford would have got Eddie Wineland, Albert got Menjivar, and now Siler gets a decent name in Miller. I see Miller taking it.

I think that John Dodson or TJ Dillashaw should fight Dustin Poirier.

First of all John Dodson is a natural flyweight, Dillashaw is a bantamweight, and Poirer is a featherweight. Second of all Porirer is a top five contender while the other two have only had one fight in the UFC (and Dillashaw lost his).

I assume Cole asked for his one?
Assuming his cut goes okay, I'd probably put my money on Miller, but it'd be so awesome if Siler was able to beat him too.

He didn't say he knows the cut won't affect him. He said he
thinks
the cut won't affect him. And I have to agree. While tall & lanky, Miller is not the most muscular LW and I think it'll be a pretty easy cut for him.
Seems like a pretty easy match for Miller, likely to try & create a new contender in the division as Aldo is running through them quicker than they're coming.

Cole cuts practically nothing to make 155... maybe 5 pounds tops. While he's been injured and out of camp, he's actually been losing weight. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I cannot believe they didn't mention the fact Siler beat Micah on TUF on MMAJUNKIE. What a huge point to leave out of the article.

I figure Cole had to have asked for it. You beat my brother kinda thing.
But if Cole loses to Siler, you know what name he has to take....
The Millah Killah!
