Not my words. He said he would have accepted it in a heart beat since it was offered to him to fight big country at UFC 161 but he couldnt be cleared

He didn't cut weight properly before. If he loses weight (something that should be easy to do) then he could safely cut 15-20 lbs. However I don't think he actually wants to drop down, if he really did he'd change his diet & work on losing weight right away. Seems to me like he's trying to hype up a fight with Jon Jones, claiming he's going to drop weight but is actually waiting for Jones to move up (hence calling out Jones at HW a few times).
I don't know about the weight cut Comier is in his mid 30s he's no spring chicken,
For the Nelson fight he should start the process of starting to trim down even lose like 10 pounds during training camp, then when the fight is over then really start the process

Cormier is a smart guy he'll figure out the best way for him to cut down to 205.
I actually think this will be a far better fight thanMir/DC...YOu dont always know which Mir will show up but Big COuntry seems there every time. Be great if he could land the big punch and end DC early so both can fight again this year.
Hopefully there isn't anything that sidelines Roy in the Stipe fight for long so they can do this in Sept
I do not think DC knows what he wants.
He is caught in an odd position not wanting to fight his training partner. He would be calling for a title shot if not for that issue. But now he is caught in this no-mans-land basically waiting for Cain to lose. And at his age he really does not have too much time to wait around.
cormier should either drop to 205 or shut the f--- up.
if you're not willing to fight the champ in the 2nd weakest division you shouldn't be holding the top contenders up, or in frank mirs case, up against the cage while whispering 'alright, i won't hurt you if you don't hurt me' in their ear

Why would Roy even consider this fight (other than the paycheck) If DC is seriously considering fighting at 205 the. Sh!t or get off the pot already! Spud may be right about selling Wolf tickets to JBJ, so when he does finally move up to HW, those two will make big dollars to fight at HW instead of LHW for the damned Strap. By the time he decides to drop to LHW, JBJ won't be there any longer. If I was Roy, I'd insist on a highly ranked HW opponent not a part timer who won't fight a friend, and that part is fine but quit wasting time and get on that diet already!

Last thing Roy needs is a top HW, we all know what happens when he faces 1, Mir,Werdum or Jr and he can't land the hay maker, he gasses in the 2nd round due to his extreme obesity. I would venture to say if Mir was faster and able to land at will on Nelson, I think Cormier who is faster than Mir can land at will and avoid the big overhand right until the second round when Nelson is gasping for a cheeseburger.
