It appears UFC “Hall of Famer”, Randy Couture has become the first man to call out James “Light’s Out” Toney since the heavyweight boxing champion put pen to paper on a multi-fight deal with the UFC, saying he wants to be the first guy the promotion calls upon.
Speaking via his Twitter page, Couture posted:
“I hope I’m the first guy they call to fight tony!
”
Couture had been linked with a fight against former middleweight champion, Rich Franklin, although these plans could be shelved in light of Toney’s recent signing. It is also unclear as to which weight class a fight between the two men would take place in, with both men able to make the 205 pound limit.

It would be a better fight then Couture-Coleman, and that main evented a PPV.
It will be interesting to see if Toney can crack someone before they put him on his back.

It would probely be an easy win for Randy but, I thought Vera would be an easy win for him as well. Wouldn't mind watching Randy force feed Toney a slice of humble pie but, it would really suck to see Randy get KTFOd.

Yeah, this one is fraught with danger. Toney may not be a proper mixed martial artist, but he'll have some of the best hands in MMA on day 1. He only needs to connect once to end it. He'll have a punchers chance, but in his case, that's not a bad chance.

Am I the only one that doesn't want to see Toney fight anyone with a ground game first fight? I have no doubt any wrestler could take him down and do whatever to him but to me that proves nothing except that a wrestler with many years experience can beat someone with little to none. I just don't think anyone watching for the first time will be impressed at all by having Randy holding him down for 15 minutes, even if he gets a sub I won't be impressed, there is no way any of them will be.
I say give him Pat Barry, or maybe even Hardonk just because of the reach advantage he would have. I want to see a kick boxer/MMA striker just school a boxer in the stand up. Perfect situation would be for them to just kick the s**t out of his lead leg because in a month he won't be able to fix his boxing stance, once he is obvious pain open up a bit more with unorthodox attacks. Hopefully he hits the ground and they remind him that he doesn't have 10 seconds to get up and get the quick TKO by vicious GNP. Now that would draw some new fans.

Nah you're not alone. I don't really want to see that either. A fight with a wrestler/grappler will be horribly predictable. Either Toney knocks him out standing, or he gets dragged to the ground and pounded out/subbed rather quickly. A kickboxer would make for a more interesting match up. I severely doubt Toney could handle more than a few leg kicks from Barry or Hardonk before losing the ability to walk.

Nothing against Chuck. I actually think it would be a very good matchup. I just think that Toney has a good chance of knocking Liddell out. Toney, should be able to hit hard and Chuck's chin is suspect.

:lol: Too true, usually his tweets is a bunch of nutritional links or something of the like. And then last night he was just rambling. He said before his IT guy used to tweet for him but now it's set up on his DROID so he does his own. Hope it's true he is a much more intersting follow now.
Oh and he gets Toney at LHW I guess we all know he's being set up for a title shot, cause there is no way Randy loses if he plays it safe.
