Dana said that win or lose Dan Henderson is a Hall of Famer. I don't think anyone would dispute that Henderson is one of the greatest fighters ever and his entire career would easily get him into a MMA Hall of Fame, but that is not the same thing as the UFC Hall of Fame. If Henderson loses to Jones, his UFC record would be 6-3 without a single championship (he would be 0-3 in title shots). 2 of those wins were pre-Zuffa in 1998, which would make him 4-3 in the "modern" era. How is that UFC Hall of Fame worthy?

Dana once said PRIDE achievements also count.

If Miletich isn't, Henderson definitely isn't.

Sure, why not. Dana can put whomever he wants in his hall of fame. Until there is some sort of independent body voting on a real hall of fame, I give the UFC HOF zero worry.

Henderson also did not go out of his way to help create another organization to go head to head with the UFC.
Most of those IFL guys are still black balled. Sure there are a few that are in the fold, but the vast majority of those guys are still on the outside looking in.

If PRIDE FC accomplishments are considered then he's an absolute no-brainer.

well yeah, but then so should Fedor, Cro Cop, Sakuraba, etc.
It is total crap if Henderson makes the UFC Hall of Fame if he loses to Jones. If he beats Jones, then I think you could at least make a plausible case for him.

All you really need is one vote to get in the UFC Hall. Would DW take all Zuffa "held" accomplishments into account? Everything done in UFC, Pride, SF, WEC, WFA?
Dan Henderson is a legendary fighter, any additional accolades for him is fine by me.
*There was a time when DW said Tank Abbott would be considered, that never went anywhere.

If Fedor signed with the UFC when he was on that win streak, he would surely be in the UFC hall of fame. Its your whole career that matters, so long as you put on some good fights for uncle Dana.

That's not fair. Everyone, including White, knows that Miletich is easily HOF material. The problem is that neither can act like adults and both continue to hold a grudge. It's too bad-because none of that childish s--- should matter for the HOF.

Fedor never fought and sakuraba only fought once in ufc, and safe to say Cro-cop didn't have the best ufc career. All 3 could go to MMA HOF, but not UFC
I agree though that this will be an easier decision depending on the next fight and what he does from there. Winning the belt will be huge, but if he loses we'll see where he goes from there.

Let's face it..the UFC hall of fame
is
the MMA hall of fame....or at least will be someday. Wanderlei Silva will be a "UFC" hall of famer as well and he's 3-5.
Dan Henderson was a hall of famer even before getting to the UFC/SF so nothing he's done there even mattered..

Hendo will go down as one of if not the hardest punchers to ever fight, any combat sport. I'd even put him in the company of Julian Jackson

I thnik it should be mentioned that the UFC bought Pride. Technically, all pride fighters and their records became Zuffa property on that day. They own the broadcast rights to all Pride fights. To my mind that would make Pride accomplishments part of the UFC fold, so to speak.
Under that premise, Hendo should be a lock for the UFC HoF.

Yup. As part of the Zuffa MMA landscape, SF records and performances would be included, too.

Yes, but there wasn't a single Pride card under the Zuffa banner. It would have been different if all of Henderson's fights in Pride were for Zuffa, but they weren't.
