Dana didn't even hesitate when asked if Ronda's return fight would be bigger financially than the Diaz vs McGregor rivalry. He thinks it will be bigger than UFC100 as well.

If Ronda came back sooner & was going up against the right opponent, id lean closer to it being a possibility, but I just cant see it happening as of now. They couldn't strike the iron while it was hot. Its cooled down so much over the past year she's been out

Disagree. After the bulls--- she pulled at the weighins, she lost fans. Then she took a long break, and didn't even do those movies. People will have forgotten her, the mainstream doesn't have the attention span to keep up with her anymore.
Her return will do well, but not great.

I think the only way it has a chance to surpass the top 3 ppv's is if it is a rematch against Holly. Even though she is on a 2 fight losing streak, the UFC PR team could promote this as the ultimate revenge fight for Ronda.
If she fights anybody else, I think it would do well, but not break 1.0mil buys.

Rousey deserves a step down fight regardless. Got her butt kicked last fight out.

He's already starting the promotion for her return. Can't blame him on that. Her return will be big but it will depend on her opponent and the entire card to be bigger than a McGregor/Diaz fight.

Thats why I think they pushed Ronda so hard for the MSG card. The venue makes up for the lack of a big name opponent. Now they have to figure something else out for 2017

It was reported that 200 did the 1.1 - 1.2 million range. Excellent numbers, but kind of a
PPV
failure based on the UFC's expectations (even without Jones vs DC). Broke all sorts of records gate wise though.
Ronda has always drawn well. Her average number of ppv buys, of cards she headlined, is 680,000. That is out of 5 events. Her last three fights is really where she's been mainstream. 184 did 600,000. 190 did 900,000. And 193 did 1,100,000. I guess you'd bank on the upward trend to continue & expect that people care even more about Ronda now. Dana is basically banking on Ronda being bigger than ever & I just dont agree since she's been out for so long. I think the time & place for her return to be a 1.4 - 1.7 type event has passed. She needs the right opponent to even sniff those numbers
