I don't think Hendo should have been forced to fight Shogun in the first place! Machida's last 8 fights are a joke compaired to Hendo's but that's going down (yes all be it by injury0Rashad). Having said that and understanding that Jones is a favorite Saturday, he's no lock either. The three time champion, MUST get the next tile shot. I think he should look at JDS too. I'm not sure bones is an easier fight anyway. Hendo versus Machida is a classic fight if that comes down. I feel sure he'll get the fight, he has more then earned it.

Sure, he got the decision over Shogun, but the performance was not overly impressive. It was an absolutely amazing fight, but partly because of the beating he & Shogun took and Shoguns comeback (that should have earned him a draw). At this very second Hendo may have had the best year in MMA history this year. After Saturday there is another case if Jones wins. If outstriking Shogun is not impressive by the way (before he completely gassed) to the degree Shogun was completely out classed (whp predicted this?), welcome to MMA

Shogun was completely outclassed, for part of the fight. Shogun was more competitive in the first few rounds than Hendo was in the last 2. It was an epic fight, but it was epic because both fighters had horrible striking defense, both ended up just throwing wild punches (because they were gassed after the 2nd), and because of Shoguns epic comeback.
As I said, if a gassed Shogun can take down Hendo & get to mount multiple times, Jones would have no problem.
I also think that Hendo needs to beat more ranked fighters to deserve a title shot.

Hendo was ahead at least 4 points after round 3 and he did gas. Round 4 was very close (I gave it to Shogun) and many gave a 10-10. You live in a dream world. After taking the Strikeforce title and beating Fedor and Shogun if you think it's not enough, we'll welome to MMA. Go back to sleep and post.

Reality seems to disagree with you. All three judges had Henderson ahead by three points after round 3, not four points ahead.
Round 4 was very close (I gave it to Shogun) and many gave a 10-10.

Henderson tires in 2 situations.
1) Cuts to 185
2) Throws non-stop bombs looking for the finish and doesn't get it
Hendo gassed against Shields because of #1 AND #2. That fight is a bad example if you want to compare it to Hendo vs JBJ.
JBJ can't go an intense 5 rounds either.

Well too bad that all the major web sites said it was not correct even though you do (it's okay with me but I can't disagree with HALF of their arguement). From your hole I guess you never realized that. A very large percentage of people said if Shogun gets a 10-8 for 5, then Hendo does for 3. I agree with this, or really just that Dan was ahead by 4 points at the end of 3 as stated.

You're right about this. MMAFighting.com scored it as a draw, as did MMAJunkie, aswell as FightMetric (who use stats to back up their scores), MMAWeekly.com, BloodyElbow.com & 2 of the 3 writers scoring the fight for Sherdog.
There was only 1 round in that fight that should have been 10-8, and it was round 5.

I totally agree. I scored that fight as a draw and I think that it would be remembered as an even better fight had the draw been official. There's a possibility that they'll never fight each other ever again. Shame on those judges.
Why are people so turned off by draws? I remember watching Edgar/Maynard II in a Buffalo Wild Wings telling my dad I would have scored it a draw. As soon as the decision was announced everyone in that restaurant threw a fit. I find that a lot of casuals watch fights at BWW, but who the heck did they think won that fight? Whatever.

Round 3 was not a 10-8 round. Shogun got rocked but he attempted a sub and he got a TD at the end of the round. Round 5 was total domination with 5 mounts and 80 strikes landed with Hendo only 8 strikes landed. Hendo did more damage but this is the UFC and the fight should have been a draw.

Hendo inflicted 1500X more damage in the fight on Shogun then Shogun did on Hendo! At the end of round 3, Hendo was ahead at least four points. They nearly stopped the fight 2X in round three. Round four was close many (not me) scored it a draw. Huggers going to hug. SHOGUN LOST. DEAL with it! He got beaten to a pulp for three rounds, really I've never seen anyone take more damage ever, H bombs right and left. Hendo was clearly dominent in round 3, a clear 10-8 that is what NONE OF THOSE WEB SITES AT ALL I REFURED TOO (including this one) HAVE EVER ADDRESSED in the face of being besiged by fans who know better they will not comment! In fact many have deleted hundreds of comments! LOl

I like Hendo so much more than I like Shogun it ain't funny. The fight was a draw. The only round I think justified a 10-8 was round 5.

The VERY LITTLE you speak of prvented a 10-7! Round 3 was a clear 10-8 based on 'clearly dominant striking'. Shogun was almost stopped 2X in the round and really, they put his safety and well being in jeporty by not stoping it. Many feel the pitter patter strikes hendo took in round 5 (including the judges) did not merit a 10-8 for Shogun. That crazy to me, but in any case Hendo beat the living crap out of shogun who was completely outclassed (who would have thought that Hendo would outclass him sooo in the striking game) for three rounds including a 'clearly dominant' round three in which the fight was nearly stopped 2X AND HE WON THE FIGHT! If you want Shogun to go through that again I don't know why! He's much better off with the stomping he took from bones as it's easier to live through rather then taking the shots he did from Hendo!
