A fight that makes more sense for Taisumov, Benny will get another, better fight. Shouldn't be an injury that keeps him out long, just probably hindered his ability to train the way he wanted to.

I don't necessarily understand that Dariush deserved bigger logic. He, by 95% of the MMA community, lost his last fight decisively, and Mairbek Taisumov annihilated top prospect Alan Patrick.
It actually seemed like a perfect fight considering both guys recent fights.
It's a pretty good fill in for sure, but seems like Taisumov should get a bigger fight considering his last fight.

He is a top 10 lightweight now. He does deserve better than Taisumov, simple as that.

I actually think Mairbek faired pretty well against Dariush, though. Hopefully they give Benny the winner of Lauzon/Dunham.

I don't disagree, Mairbek earned the step up, and no one else was available for Benny at the time the fight was booked since Iaquinta is out. Now there are a few more options for him. I think he was being used as an alternate for Eddie/Pettis if either pulled out.

I was actually considering picking Mairbek in that one. His tdd and strikings legit as hell. I hear what you're saying though.
In saying that, I'm not sure I would've pulled the trigger, but Taisumov could've been a bad fight for Benny, stylistically IMO.
